Early today, Minister @JoNsengimana launched the EU Twinning Project on Strengthening Early Childhood Education in Rwanda, a partnership between Rwanda, the European Union, and the Governments of Lithuania and Finland. The initiative will support Rwanda’s efforts to expand access to quality pre-primary education, strengthen teacher training and play-based learning, improve quality assurance systems, and promote stronger parental and community engagement in children’s early learning. While addressing participants, the Minister emphasized the critical importance of investing in the early years of learning as a foundation for Rwanda’s long-term development. “The future of a nation is shaped long before a child enters primary school. The curiosity nurtured, the confidence built, and the love of learning developed in the early years form the foundation upon which all later education is built. By strengthening early childhood education today, we are investing in Rwanda’s future innovators, entrepreneurs, teachers, and leaders.”
