At the #ListingsForum2026, @CMARwanda's Head of Market Development, Karekezi Ngabonziza said listing is important because it gives businesses access to long-term capital in a trusted, regulated market. He noted that Rwanda’s capital market now has over 270,000 investors, 95% of them Rwandans, with more than Frw 2.71 trillion raised, market capitalisation at Frw 6.6 trillion, and turnover above Frw 129 billion in 2024. He noted this as a key to accountability, informed choice, a fair and competitive market benefiting consumers and businesses.

In his remarks, @P_Sebahizi Minister of @RwandaTrade emphasized that business operators must ensure all goods and services meet safety and quality standards. He stressed that they should proactively verify their products to protect consumers and maintain trust in the marketplace

RDB CEO @afrika_jean welcomed stakeholders to the Textile and Garment CEO Forum, noting the sector as a key pillar of Rwanda’s industrialisation agenda with capacity for large scale job creation, particularly for women and youth. He highlighted the opportunity to expand local production, increase exports, and further position Rwanda in regional and global value chains, while noting the existing gap between domestic demand and local supply. Emphasising Rwanda’s continued commitment to a conducive business environment, he called for open dialogue and practical solutions to unlock growth, support investor expansion, and accelerate the sector’s contribution to national development.

She lastly reaffirmed RICA’s commitment to raising public awareness on consumer rights and responsibilities, strengthening market surveillance and enforcing compliance with standards across all supply chains to respond to emerging market dynamics and safeguard consumer welfare.

She said that continued collaboration will be key. Through strong partnerships with @CentralBankRw, government institutions, the private sector and development partners, a safe, transparent & fair marketplace can be built thus boosting both consumer confidence and business growth

She further indicated that informed and empowered consumers drive businesses to provide safe, quality products and keep stakeholders accountable thus benefiting both consumers and investors. This, she added, strengthens trust and confidence in the marketplace.

In her opening remarks, DG of RICA Antoinette Mbabazi thanked all stakeholders for continued support, emphasizing that the theme calls for joint efforts to ensure safe and high-quality goods and services while empowering consumers to demand their rights.
