@LordKnightBB I think most people understand that he is indeed correct. The issue is the time and place being completely off.
I can give some charity and conclude that he was just trying to make funny banter that came out wrong. But it’s a classic case of: person fails to read the room.

Amon will (somehow) win, then the developers will betray democracy and go with Bumi anyway because he’s the more exciting character to adapt into a fighting game.

@GhostFrom3S @TheSSK_ Literally all of the examples you’ve shown are of characters that were already revealed/playable, and then were later inserted into stages. It’s not the same as what’s being discussed in Tokon.
But I agree that it’s not a 100% de-confirm. I just think it’s a likely de-confirm.

@EBCharlie @TheSSK_ You're not entirely wrong, but there are def moments where characters in the base roster show up in stages as cameos.
This has been a consistent thing for newer fighting games, specifically 2010s and onward. Daredevil being on the stage doesn't entirely deconfirm him.

@TheSSK_ Also, the Storm argument isn’t the best because she was already shown in the first reveal trailer in for the games existence. She then showed up in the X-Mansion stage many months later.
So it wasn’t a case of background character now becoming playable.

I agree that some of those characters will probably show up as DLC later.
And sure, I’m don’t doubt that some devs probably enjoy the conversations and prediction convos that happen. But I’m also sure that some devs don’t want to dampen the hype of a base roster character reveal by having said character already existing in the background.
It’s not a definite de-confirm. Anyone saying so is doing a bit too much. It’s just a *likely* de-confirm.
