I know we place hella importance on competitive FGs but comp is not even in my personal top 3 reasons to get good at FGs: 1) You like doing cool shit in game 2) They are the most fun games to discuss strats with other people 3) You want a “learning how to learn” arc

Why's that service here? Made a wish in main. Why's that controller being used? Compile time wish. How did I end up in this instance? Your wish has been granted sir.

Day 2 of C#, I no longer feel like I'm writing computer code, I'm just making wishes to the .NET genie and they are being granted.

@Sttarkson Lots of brilliant people have a tendency to be extremely developed in some areas and under developed in others. The lack of random pondering/curiosity outside of their range of care often leaves them responding to technology like they are someone's grandmother lol

@Speedkicks Are they really that intelligent if the difference needed pointing out? Just using the damn the thing teaches you what it's useful for and what it is not, you don't necessarily need domain knowledge.

Having to explain to a pretty intelligent person why LLMs are good for "how can I expand this idea?" but not "how good is this idea?" made it pretty clear how so much leadership got one shot by AI psychosis. Without domain knowledge, it really looks like a thinking machine 💀

@Penance4u Haha that's a fun thought. Seemingly loops. Yeah, it can be good in assisting the expansion of "steps to figure out if this expansion is a good idea". But then you are back at square one, because it was you as the "reasoning expert" to have determined that as a good idea.

@Speedkicks Is expanding an idea a good thing? You need to expand ideas in a good sense to take something forward, which means you have to answer the question "is this expansion a good idea?". Just a thought, what do you think?

@AncienCarnelian And those that believe in their own perspective more than anyone, and will only listen to information from experts if it supports that bias. So leadership.

@Speedkicks Worse, the people for whom it looks most impressive are the ones for whom linguistically-sophisticated bullshit looks correct. So leadership.

@Speedkicks If you want to trim some of the duplication, you could use a primary constructor. Public class UserService(IUserRepo users) { private readonly IUserRepo _users = users; }

@misohachi It feels like the solution to this is "make myself believe I can do it", but it's "don't worry about if you can or can't do it" Can't make yourself believe in something that feels unrealistic, but you can still have fun learning new stuff without putting yourself down 😁

@GShominy Not so sure these are all the same people. Gotta keep in mind there's majority/minority groups in every gen to avoid common observation traps. e.g. Guy who didn't participate in majority stupid thing X in their gen complains all of the next gen is into majority stupid thing Y

@Speedkicks The interesting thing is how the older generation then falls for the next thing. All people that warned us about TV brainrot became doomscrolling social media zombies. Meanwhile our generation is currently at a point where most cant even write the simplest email without AI help.

I grew up with adults warning of TV brain rot and going "ah it can't be that bad". Then I learned, got older, and started warning kids of social media brain rot with them going "ah it can't be that bad". Now they're older and warning people of AI brain rot lmao we're so cooked
