This is the world we are headed towards. Images and gifs were the dominant memes of the past. going forward, people can hijack real footage or movie/tv scenes and create whatever ridiculous alternate reality they want very quickly. Additionally, you get a bunch of people in the comments posting asking if it is real. you also get a bunch of people in the comments posting that it's fake. both create engagement and boost it in the algo. throw in the fact people are making 'shocking' videos like this that starts from a believable scene, it will naturally draw more reactions. You can also tailor it specifically to a popular topic or sentiment, like someone did here about the Cavs loss last night. Social media will be unrecognizable very quickly. Nothing is real.
