It’s great to see the Digital Brain Tumour Atlas, a resource openly available on EBRAINS, highlighted in the Journal of Imaging Informatics in Medicine as a dataset that is especially well-suited for histopathology-related AI and machine learning research. "The data, available via EBRAINS under ethical non-commercial guidelines, is invaluable for machine learning, diagnostic research, and teaching" says the article. Everyday decisions – from crossing a street to recognising a face – depend not only on what we perceive, but also on how confident we are in that perception. While scientists know the brain is good at dealing with uncertainty, it has been unclear how individual brain cells reflect this uncertainty. A new study now offers new insights to this question. Earlier today we had the pleasure of hosting an informative session dedicated to the EBRAINS research infrastructure at the #EBRAINSC26! The event featured Viktor Jirsa, Chief Science Officer at EBRAINS AISBL, who delivered an engaging introduction to the EBRAINS ecosystem and highlighted its strategic importance for universities and research institutions.
