Finally we show the steroid hormone ecdysone is involved in establishing specific macrophage subpopulations in both the embryo and the pupa! Huge thanks to @delaevanio, @Ong_Lab and Martin Zeidler for all their help and advice! 3/3

Downstream of Simu we show that the Calcium-permeable channel Amo/Pkd2 is required for effective phagosome maturation, which seems to remove macrophages out of a specific subpopulation! 2/3
