It still feels really weird to think of something I watched as a teenager as "old", but the show definitely left an impression on me. I should give the full show a rewatch as well instead of just watching clips on Youtube.

Last year I stumbled over some clips on YouTube, and many of you said this was a very good series. I watched the first Sharpe episode, then got busy and distracted. Decided to re-start again last night. It's def 1990s low budget. But honestly? There's a kind of charm to that, now. Modern TV is so financed and slick, but also so putrid and empty. I'll take an older series that ran on a lean budget, but has good writing and good characters, vs. what we have now.

@BigDumpo69 @RiloeGaming Oh, now that would be pretty neat. Adds a bit of incentive not to just go for the headshot when dealing with suspects while also not penalizing aggressive play. The downside being that you're vulnerable while conducting combat lifesaver tasks.

@ECS013 @RiloeGaming Honestly I'd really enjoy an (optional) first aid to civilians and wounded suspects function to Ready or Not. You have to search for the wound and apply either tourniquet or pressure dressing based off the wound, awarding you extra points for stabilizing them before EMS arrives.

I think they should do this in military shooters, too. We've had a bajillion games about World War 2, a bunch about Vietnam even, and now a whole series of games and a series of remakes of those games about "modern warfare." It's all been done, and no matter what, someone is going to get butthurt about the scenario in the game (including and especially the country of China). Just make up factions. 90% of the players are only ever going to do multiplayer anyway. I am biased toward this because I would have a lot of fun invention factions and exploring their TO&E, ideology, uniforms, etc.

Also, the "twist" of the CIA creating Pax Armata (I don't care if it's a spoiler) is fucking dumb, and I bet that bit was added by ChatGPT.
It will probably still be better than Call of Duty's latest attempt at being cerebral...which says a lot about the state of modern writing.

Since Battlefield is still the talk of the town, I figured I'd give my thoughts on Battlefield 6's story.
It's bad. Not a "bad story executed well". Just bad. While BF4's story wasn't great, it still tries to make you care about the stakes and Tombstone squad.
