Off to work in the Children’s Emergency Department tonight @NHSG_RACH. I wonder how many times when I ask how injuries were sustained I’ll hear “so we were sledging when...” @ECUnited_RACH

@HelenRobbins11 As our new cabinet is next to the place we make up drugs in the prep room the keys are put back straight away. We have the added bonus that the machine alarms at you if the door is open too long, so it’s a helpful reminder to return the keys and not walk away with them. 😊.

@lelalexander1 Hilariously we are all now struggling to remember that no one has keys on them and each shift change has a mini freak out that the previous shift have taken the keys home when they are in fact locked away 🤦🏽♀️😂. Will take some time to get used too but definitely for the better!

@ECUnited_RACH It's such a simple thing, but will make a huge difference! How much time was wasted trailling about asking "have you got the keys?" Or the guilt when you forgot to hand them over before you went to the canteen???! 😱

Covid has paused some of our improvements we had in the pipeline, however here is one we have managed! A locked key cabinet instead of carrying round sets of keys. Makes keys more traceable and available in emergencies. 🎉😄#sharedgovernance #nhsg

Yes it should make a massive difference! Oh so much time was wasted key hunting 😂. Especially in our department due to emergency scans etc, people were always accidentally going with patients and keys to scan etc, leaving the department without access to important drugs!

During COVID-19 our staff have to work entire shifts, apart from breaks, wearing surgical face masks and ppe. Our shared governance group thought it would be a lovely treat for our staff and their skin to have a pamper face mask to relax at home with (even for the men)🤩.
