1999. I’m 19 years old. I’m visiting a friend in Chicago, and decide to take a train to Milwaukee to catch a baseball game alone. I happen to sit next to a senior investment banker from New York City. He’s on business by himself, and we start chatting. We talk baseball, the stock market, life, and he makes fun of the fact I’m not allowed to have a beer at a baseball game. Kindest person you can ever meet. As the game concludes, he hands me his business card. “You seem really motivated and you have a good head on your shoulders. Call me when you graduate from college.” I look down at the business card. 2 World Trade. 89th Floor. David Graifman - those three hours had a huge impact on my confidence at a young age, as well as my life. And from what I’ve read, you impacted many many others. I’m finally living in New York now, after all these years. We should be catching a Yankee game this week, talking about about how it’s been almost 25 years since that first of many games we caught. Will Never Forget 🙏
