@leizl201 @Dr_Done_ Unless you are a doctor you have no business commenting on what they go through. They are the risk holders and that needs compensation.

@Dr_Done_ Maybe doctors should look around at other staff within the NHS that they rely on so heavily so they can do their jobs and look at what they earn. The admin and clerical staff, porters, cleaners etc and get off their high horses and do their jobs

The comments on this post really show how clueless the public are. It shouldn’t still be surprising, but it is: - They don’t know what resident doctors do - They think we also do private work - They think we’re guaranteed to become Consultants - They don’t believe we pay for our own training - They assume we work with Consultant oversight at all times - They don’t believe Physician Assistants are paid more than Physicians - They are allowed to base their lives around earning money, but you should be happy being paid in bread rolls because you chose a ‘vocation’ These attitudes are why the UK is currently a third world country

You have fully lost doctors at this point @wesstreeting Our assistants are paid £10K more than us - until that is not the case, your words mean nothing

@alexmassie So if you are in your 30s, you are supposed to comforted by the fact that even though your value isn’t recognised now, the moving goalpost of retirement might be good in your 60s?…if you get there.

Once again, I beseech you: Every single discussion of public sector pay - nurses, doctors, teachers etc - should include the value of public sector pensions. Compensation deferred remains compensation.

@TomStocks1982 A very short reflection! It’s like they are incapable of not making it sound like a warning. Maybe they should reflect on the letter templates they use.

Do I have any Doctors who follow me? Just intrigued to know how much your professional fees are per year? CSP + HCPC, £579 per year. To work. Any other professions that have to pay to go to work? 🫨🫣. We won’t talk about paying to park and other NHS issues…

@DrNeenaJha @KyleRoys @DrCarolineMWF @rcgp Whilst I understand your concerns, and I’m not a fan of the FCP role in a stretched system, I think it’s wrong to conflate the 2 things. Most physios would know when to refer on if potential non msk cause. So that risk is no higher than it ever was.

The only time I feel physiotherapists can be first contact is if there is a very clear history of injury - e.g. if a patient twisted their ankle For undiagnosed & first presentations of pain e.g hip pain, shoulder pain etc they should all be triaged by a doctor first as there are non MSK red flag causes that must be excluded & delays in diagnosis can have a huge impact. Unfortunately I’ve witnessed this in practice

Thank you for the response @rcgp. Can you please urgently clarify: 1) Why all non-GP doctors, irrespective of their seniority, are not permitted to see undifferentiated patients in 1° care (with/without supervision) as it’s deemed unsafe without undergoing GP specialty training yet PAs without a medical degree are? This clearly doesn’t make any sense & is a huge patient safety concern. 2) Your urgent plan for reversing the rapid replacement of GPs with non-doctors via ARRS funding 2) Your urgent plan for the thousands of unemployed GPs unable to find work - we are hearing reports of GPs having to work as Uber drivers, some using food banks etc. Which I’m sure you’ll agree is frankly disgraceful.
Royal College of General Practitioners@rcgp

Following recent discussions on X we’d like to clarify that RCGP isn’t responsible for training course content or for keeping records of FCPs, but we’ll raise this in our next meeting with NHSE.

Since I started work the Tories have taken over power from Labour twice and inherited complete economic mess. Labour have taken over power from Tories once and inherited a stable growing economy. Looks like they will do so again. Lucky Labour.

@theveindoc Was his conduct invented though? Should it all have been just let slide? I would have thought even the staunchest Tory would have been embarrassed by it all. Clearly not though.

@theveindoc A unique take I’ll give you that. But ultimately this government is full of shameless MPs of below average ability who would have done a good job of being ousted without the help of the media.

It appears the campaign by doctors and BMA to influence MPs and Lords by discrediting PAs and AAs through insults and abuse has seriously backfired. As any sensible onlooker would have predicted.
