@daniforthewin Tubed back to pharmacy 5 days later with CREDIT written on the label

@laurenwright_37 Not in the omnicell, but in a bag of meds kept at the pharmacist desk. This bag also has our dantrolene, a cyanokit, and a few other things that we don’t use super often but want to have readily available
English

@EMToxRx @PsychPharmD_ @yelahfox @PharmD_ED @PharmdizzleEM Like every time a nurse calls for verification of a low priority med, I’ll mention I’m in a code/RSI/whatever and will do it sooner, and they seem surprised, so they maybe don’t know what the ED pharm job is? Turnover seems high, so probably gets lost in new hires lol
English

@EMToxRx @PsychPharmD_ @yelahfox @PharmD_ED @PharmdizzleEM It’s kind of nice that the boarding unit is staffed by a group of NP/PAs who (mostly) all cover ED as well, so they understand the limitations of having just one pharmacist and we also have the relationships, but the nurses there only do boarding so it’s not as smooth
English

@DrSpooky_ER Actually kind of obsessed with “anticistamines”
English

@Anita_PharmD That’s really the question. I got the CE for super cheap because I did BCPS before my PGY2 then signed up for the ASHP recert while I was a resident (so super discounted). I don’t think it actually matters as much as I’m debating, just looking for insight from others
English

@mmPharmD That’s my thought too. I don’t see myself doing anything outside of EM any time soon, so I don’t think I need BCPS. I think it’s just the perfectionist in me that has anxiety about letting an achievement expire lol
English

@EDPharmHand That's my plan. I have BCIDP. I practice in ID. BCPS will lapse in 2029 🤷🏼♀️
English

@anow1828 That’s kind of my take too. Idk why letting it lapse feels like a big deal to me when I only did BCPS because I didn’t match for PGY2 on the first try and wanted it to look better on apps lol.
English

@EDPharmHand Personally, I don't see keeping BCPS when you have BCEMP. I plan on getting BCEMP in addition to my BCCCP as they are different practice styles and I'm in the ED now.

@daniforthewin Idk I happen to love fluid resuscitation with undiluted digoxin

@EMPoisonPharmD I always tell my students day 1 that I would like for them to do at least one round of compressions, but it won’t be required. I explain that it’s best to do their first ever round in a room of people who can teach, and one of mine ended up doing CPR at her community job
English

Ok lots of great discussion now. New scenario. What if the task is CPR?
Ryan Feldman (empoisonpharmd.bsky.social)@EMPoisonPharmD
Theoretical question If a pharm student refuses a task done under direct preceptor supervision, because they are nervous, despite being certified and its in scope of practice, should that impact grade? E.g. Patient counsel, drug information question, provide vaccination.

@NBCSports is embarrassingly bad at covering gymnastics. Suni Lee and Simone Biles are amazing, but I don’t need to just stare at them on the sidelines while other people are actually competing. What if we tried actually showing gymnastics?
