@zacroBID @PCC_PharmD It’s likely all of those things. We attempted to identify massive/high risk PE in the cohort but they were not definitely identified in everyone. I suspect if that was not the root cause of arrest then the lytic wouldn’t work regardless of agent. Need more data to compare

@PCC_PharmD @EDWieru Would assume chance/unmeasured confounders (eg, CPR quality, loc of administration). You’d think better fibrin specificity where 100% of dose, if circulated, gets to the site of action would be comparable. What would be a plausible explanation? Also can’t access whole thing

New ED pharmD study on lytics for PE-arrest with both tPA and TNK pt's
ROSC seen in 9/21 with tPA vs only 2/11 with TNK. Not a huge study (it's hard to find pts) but super interesting to see if another study comes out with similar tPA > TNK results

@PCC_PharmD @PharmdPatrick Same for us per protocols but in practice TNK is so much easier to prep we grab it frequently during arrest to save time!

12 years ago, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life to leave the field of solid state physics and go into medicine. I told myself I would get away from academic science. Incredibly grateful to my supportive family, all those who took a chance on me, my amazing mentors, and tremendous collaborators.
