That's a *very* different kind of background check than in USA; other people have to vouch for your fitness to own a deadly weapon & be interviewed by police; you have to be interviewed by police; storage requirements; classes; tests and so on.

New Zealand allows 16-year-olds to buy guns. They own ~1.5 million guns in a population of ~5 million.
But in a typical year ~10 New Zealanders are murdered with a gun, a tiny fraction of the USA's rate.
What do they do differently?

In progress … working back to front. I like it when my paintings have a lot of depth. The key to depth is slightly shifting value and saturation as you move forward. This is most evident in the dark blues but is true for other colors as well.
