This truly resonates, especially after reviewing student feedback from over 2K students 2nd-12th grade on how the current ways of "demonstrating mastery" do not leverage their identities, strengths, or build the psychological safety needed for high engagement.

@maryellhernande yes! I find that my own privilege around education makes it hard for me to question aspects of the dominant culture anchoring around knowledge and workshop of the written words.

@EE_CrystalX A4: I'm with you @EE_CrystalX, I'm asking myself questions consistently to ensure I am combating dominant culture within myself. I am also looking at ways in which I can leverage my voice as a WOC and learn + empower others as an ally. #NELEEDchat

A4: I am trying to consistently question what I think or have been told is BEST PRACTICE/ RIGHT APPROACH to uncover if it was built on the dominant culture. Then I start the reflection and re-programming process to spot my own detours (re: Joan Olsson). #NELEEDchat
