Most I see make posts, state only positives & or will spin it in a favorable way. Easy to run away from the truths & uncomfortable facts. Not here on this page. The relationships with my players are built on truths, caring, & constructive criticism. At the @UCF_Football 7v7 tourney on June 15th, no way about it, we struggled in the first 3 pool games. Heck, we got shut out in the 2nd game. We completed less than 50% of our throws in pool play. So what do you as an OC with a struggling QB & WRs needing to get back in a rhythm? You go back to what you do. You find your identity with quick passes & simplified concepts. Result, completion % up, confidence gained, place in semis & lose by 2 points. Again 10 different players caught a ball. 4 different guys caught at least 9 balls. No turnovers. So I’m happy with us competing. However, it’s where we struggled in the beginning that will be addressed. I have to do a better job getting our guys prepared. We have to do a better job being locked in with any competitive environment. Now that’s what the summer is for. Development, strengthening, unity, & building the inner desire to be great.
