The house I grew up in is gone. Me and my family are completely safe and will be just fine. But there’s thousands of families that have lost everything and need help. DONATE if you can. RETWEET and SHARE. God Bless 🙏🏾

In these murky times of conference realignment for @WSUCougarFB I thought it was important to share my thoughts about what makes all this so sad and where WSU would fit best moving forward.

@pbasilstrength I am seeking a 'conditioning test' that is sensitive to fitness, specific to sport (based on demands of competition) with specificity to positions within sport...say, football, for example. Anyone? Thanks!
If you run a conditioning test for "accountability"
Then do nothing with the results
You just broadcasted to your team that you're full of crap and your standards don't matter
They called your bluff
Here’s what’s happening on a rep to rep basis during a RSA test.
Two takeaways:
☝️Research has shown as we get deeper into RSA protocols the aerobic system becomes a more relevant player in energy production.
✌️The aerobic system is the main driver in between rep recovery.
A greater capacity to perform repeated high intensity efforts off short rest (<10s),
Differentiates higher performing teams in semi-pro rugby league.
But what qualities underpin repeated sprint performance?
Three main factors that affect RSA:
⚫️Sprinting Ability - how fast an athlete is
⚫️Sprint Energy Production - what energy systems are contributing to the outputs
⚫️Between Sprint Recovery - how quickly an athlete can recover before the next effort
RSA stands for Repeated Sprint Ability and is described as an athlete’s ability to execute multiple high intensity sprints with incomplete recovery.
More specifically, in sport, we’re typically talking about:
Sprints <6sec
Recovery <60sec

I wanted to share one model I’ve used with my College/NFL groups with great success.
There are 3 goals for this training block:
1. Prepare for the expected camp volumes
2. Build a reverse of fitness in prep for camp
3.Minimize residual fatigue while still respecting ACWR
