@MyActivIngrednt I completely support that movement is medicine, but wondering how to build a consistent, active routine. Do you suggest any tips on where to begin and how to stay motivated?
Hi @exerciseworks! I'm determined to find a solution to promote physical activity in my community, especially among students. What is the number one recommendation to promote an active lifestyle?
Youth were hit hard by the pandemic, and many are still struggling to get back into the workforce. It’s time to invest in real opportunities. #YouthUnemployment#EM203Robin.
Offering public open spaces for physical activity can help promote exercise in a way that is accessible for everyone! We can build a healthier community💪
Post-secondary education is meant to improve our lives, but the stress and sedentary lifestyle may be doing more harm than good. Schools need to promote physical activity to support students' mental health #em203robin#em203researchsciencedirect.com/science/articl…
@EM203BHood Rising screen time and academic stress are pushing students into physically inactive lifestyles, increasing anxiety and depression. How can schools balance academics with movement? #EM203problems
Rising Rates of Childhood Obesity Due to Physical Inactivity in Canadian Elementary Schools - Limited physical activity at school and increased screen time are leading to higher obesity rates and negatively affecting students. @EM203BHood#EM203problems
@EM203hkainth Accessibility and social, and economic factors are causing an increase in unhealthy eating, contributing to an abundance of physical and mental health issues. Education, policy changes, and improved access can help build healthy habits #Em203problems.
@EM203Nataly, Obesity rates will continue to rise, especially in children and minority groups, due to a combination of personal, socioeconomic, and political factors. It is essential to implement solutions to make a change. #Em203problems
@EM203Akostopoul Limited funding prevents equitable education for all students worldwide, as barriers include poor infrastructure, resources and teachers. This increases stress levels amongst students. #EM203problems
@EM203Lauryn I agree! This course is already showing me how much we can learn and connect with others from social media platforms like X. It’s interesting to think of what the future has in store for the use of platforms in classroom settings.
I have already learned so much within the first 3 weeks of #EM203Robin. It has been so interesting to learn about the digital age and completing the weekly tasks - it has made me seen digital learning in a new light. I'm excited to keep learning more!
@EM203OProv This word fits perfectly with this course. When learning is fun, it makes students want to engage, retaining greater information. Overall, it allows one to reach their full potential.
'Fun' was my initial thought to describe the first three classes of this EM 203 course. I look forward to continuing with this course and developing new skills! #EM203Robin
@7372Maddy I agree! Technology has made learning environments more engaging and more effective than simply reading a textbook and memorizing. When we’re engaged we’re less likely to multitask with distractions due to boredom.
This we we discovered how learning has evolved from behaviourism to connectivism, where knowledge is built through networks and digital connections on and offline. Engaging with content in multiple ways boosts learning, while tech multitasking can reduce focus. #EM203Robin
I have just completed the work for week 3 of EM203. So far, I'm enjoying this class and find all the different tasks and activities pretty interesting! #em203robin
I find it especially interesting learning about the first lesson of this course and how technology changes the way we learn and is a response to societal problems. I find it fascinating how media has evolved over time and wonder. #EM203Robin
My first lessons in this course have allowed me to explore the importance of digital use for all learning styles and how much we truly learn and rely on it. The past few classes have had such a different setup from other courses, which makes it exciting and engaging! #EM203Robin
