I have chosen to conduct research on ways to prevent rising child obesity rates in North America during COVID-19. Here are some slides from my presentation! #EM203Robin
Hello @DrJenniferShu! I'm a student doing some research on COVID-19 and its impact on the physical wellbeing of children. Could you recommend any tips for parents or children in terms of trying to balance work, stress, school, physical activity and nutrition during these times?

@EM203JuliannaC When it comes to receiving treatment, it is crucial to not exclude treatment regarding mental health. There is a lot of stigma surrounding individuals receiving support from professionals which can definitely make them rethink reaching out for help. #EM203problems
@juliacherniak I very much enjoyed the task in the first week where we had to create a comic of ourselves. I also think it’s pretty cool that we’re gaining knowledge on the topic of learning in a digital era, especially since we’re the ones who are currently experiencing it!
#EM203Robin This course is very technologically based. The first lesson was a great way to get to know my classmates, the second lesson we read about different digital learning methods. The third lesson we about the 3 M’s-multi-media, multi-modal and multi-tasking.
@em203_jessica It’s fun being able to try out new things while we’re also learning! I chose to do the difficult sudoku puzzle. It was quite challenging as it’s something I don’t do everyday, but it was rewarding to see it completely finished at the end.
In the past 3 weeks of EM203, I have learned a lot about different learning styles and the 3M’s. This week we learned how to learn a new task. I enjoyed this activity as I learned how to make a paper airplane, which is something I have always wanted to do! #EM203Robin
@em203ngalletti This course really allows us to reflect on our learning styles while also gaining new knowledge. The recalling words exercise made me realize how much I value studying in a quiet environment, as I’m just not as productive when there’s so many distractions going on.
So far #EM203Robin has been fun! This class takes a far different approach to learning and completing assignments than any other class I’ve been apart of. My favourite week of content so far was this week. Recalling words with no distraction and distraction was eye opening😊
@nicole66562124 Each person certainly does have their own learning habits! I found digital literacy quite interesting too. I would also say our generation has an advantage when it comes to learning in the 21st century because we were somewhat born into/alongside the age of technology!
Everyone learns differently depending on their own learning preferences. Digital literacy is the ability to navigate and learn in a digital environment. #EM203Robin
@EM203zweijie I agree we tend to overlook most of these things in our daily lives. We tend to be so focused on memorizing and learning new knowledge that we don’t often reflect on the various strategies we use to do so, and how that further impacts our ability to learn.
During the last three weeks of EM203, we discussed the importance of the Internet, various learning theories, and the 3 M's. In fact, these all appear in our real lives, but we don't realize it. As the course continues, I'm excited to learn new things. #EM203Robin
I've really enjoyed learning about digital literacy. As a student, being able to work in certain digital environments remains an important skill. For example: Laurier’s active learning classroom encourages participation/collaboration alongside the use of technology. #EM203Robin
