Nicotine might boost your focus—but there's no biological free lunch Even at low doses, nicotine can quickly become addictive, elevating heart rate and blood pressure over time, increasing cardiovascular risk It can also disrupt restorative sleep, reducing deep and REM stages, especially when taken later in the day There's another catch: it’s not a direct carcinogen, but nicotine might still help tumors grow by promoting angiogenesis—the formation of new blood vessels tumors use to spread Consider safer routes for boosting cognitive function: High-intensity interval training, cold exposure, or cacao flavanols

This image is correlated to the health aspect of sports. Mental health is something that is often brushed over when discussing the health of athletes #EM203Robert

mentalhealth.org Contains many resources and information regarding smoking being used as a coping mechanism. This site can answer many questions; Why is smoking addictive? How does this affect my mental health? How do I quit?

@EM203GIannaco A major problem I identified in my mind map was the influences of peer pressure and culture on smoking. Particularly in university/college settings peer pressure and party culture are undeniable present. #EM203problems

@ECarabettaEM203 A major problem I have identified within my mind map regarding smoking involves environmental influences. Marketing and easy access influences those who may have never smoked to start. #EM203problems

A major problem I have identified in my mind map is the tendency of those struggling with mental health issues using smoking as an unhealthy coping mechanism. @EM203JBanks #EM203problems

@Em203cmorgan An issue I identified from your concept map is risk to human life, due to reduced plant growth. Plants are essential to human life. Limited plant growth caused by climate change can lead to food shortage, poor air quality and many other health issues.

The first few weeks of EM203 have been quite different than other courses I've taken at Laurier. Content about learning theory was quite interesting, but what piqued my interest even more was learning Sudoku and completing a hard puzzle. #EM203Robin

The first few weeks of this course have been a nice change of direction for me. I've never been in a learning space like this one. Learning about cognitivism taught me a new way of understanding information, and will be looking forward to the remainder of the course. #EM203Robin

@EM203AAikins Cognitivism was new to me aswell. I believe it would be effective to learn the strategies related to this theory for future studies.

@EM203JBanks Agreed, I learn more independently but I see the value in the learning theory of connectivism. I will definitely use this process in my future studies.

The first 3 weeks of EM203 have been very engaging and interesting. The classes discussion posts allow me to obtain different perspectives of ideas in which may differ from mine. This is exemplified in week 2's discussion on the learning theory of connectivism. #EM203Robin

The first 3 weeks of #EM203Robin have been very insightful. We have learned about several learning theories and digital technology. Multi-modal learning has been effective for me, but I wasn’t aware of the name or specifics. Hopefully I can take this knowledge into other courses.
