The climate crisis is changing the face of the Arctic as we know it, and putting people’s livelihoods at risk. We need to act, and that’s what we’re doing today by adding more than 427,000 square kilometres to Canada’s marine protected areas. cbc.ca/news/politics/…
Canada's moving forward and banning harmful single-use plastics as early as 2021 and, across the country, companies are also stepping up. 👏🏻 Today, @Sobeys announced they're removing plastic bags from stores by 2020 — taking 225 million plastic bags out of circulation every year!
Canada's protected areas do more than safeguard wildlife. By focusing on protecting high quality areas, we can take on the dual crises of wildlife loss and climate change. @jessieleecurrie highlights five priority areas for conservation. bit.ly/30WV6HP
Check out this info-graphic I made with regards to the Human-Caused Mass Extinction. This is the 6th mass extinction event in Earth's History and the 1st event caused primarily by humans! #ClimateCrisis#EM203Mueller
The #climatecrisis has been a hot topic over the last few months, and the consequences of doing nothing could be catastrophic. 1 million species face extinction as a direct result of human activity. It is an issue that needs to be discussed #EM203Mueller#EM203OC1Problem
Such an inspiring message from @GretaThunberg and @the1975. Humans are creating catastrophic change that is affecting millions of species, our land, air, and water. It's time to act now to make a change for a better future #EM203Muelleryoutube.com/watch?v=zq4eCQ…
@EM203JustinEng@Laurier Env management needs to be guided w/ evidence-based policy. E.g. Evidence shows disease from managed bees is a major threat to the bee spp. at-risk of extinction yet very little of the #savethebees leads with that. Industry & uninformed public have more say than the science.
@SaveWildBees@Laurier Thanks for the insight! I definitely agree that the #climatecrisis movement is mainly driven by industry and uninformed public. Educating them through evidence-based policy can lead to a more productive change for a better future #EM203Mueller
Hey @SaveWildBees, I’m a 3rd year @Laurier and I have been researching human caused mass extinction over the past several weeks. Do you have any insights you could share on ways we can do better to protect the 1 million species facing extinction? #climatecrisis#EM203Mueller
Hey @prof_smurph, I currently attend Laurier and have been researching ways to prevent human-caused mass extinction for school over the last several weeks. Do you have any insights or ways individuals can combat species extinction in the face of a #climatecrisis? #EM203Mueller
Hey @QUBS_Director, I am currently in third-year Laurier, and I have been researching human-cased mass extinction over the last several weeks. Do you have any insights that individuals, schools, businesses, can do to stop the extinction of 1 million species? #EM203Mueller
Hey @jrockstrom, over the past several weeks I have been researching the mass-extinction event caused by human activity for school. I was hoping you can provide some insight on how individuals can be #sustainable and prevent this #climatecrisis#EM203Mueller
Hey @GretaThunberg over the past several weeks I have been researching mass extinction caused by human activity for school. I was hoping you can share your expertise on what needs to be done on a global level to protect the 1 million species at risk #ClimateCrisis#EM203Mueller
Hey @WildlifeEmily, over the past several weeks I have been researching mass extinction caused by human activity for school. As a senior specialist in species conservation @WWFCanada, I was wondering if you could provide some advice on how we can #protecttheanimals#EM203Mueller
