My first lesson in EM203 was super interesting! I learned about different learning theories, with a focus on behaviourism - the theory that behaviour can be controlled and predicted using rewards and punishments. I’m excited to learn more in this course! #EM203Robin
@EM203jsewitt I agree with Bate's argument. The world is constantly evolving as a digital place. So many aspects have changed as a reflection of technology, but teaching/education needs to take more action and utilize the digital world to be more effective in today's society.
One thing I learned from an earlier lesson comes from the week two reading of Tony Bate’s “Teaching in a Digital Age: Third Edition." Bate argues that teaching methods need to evolve. Blending digital tools with teaching can make learning more engaging and effective!

@EM203RachelM I also found the different learning theories interesting as they allow for a diverse approach to learning in that we all learn differently as a reflection of ourselves and our abilities.
@EM203HannahM I also found it interesting to understand how our cognition has been changed and shaped by technology which in turn has altered how we use our brains as the newer generation.
After these first 3 lessons, I have enjoyed learning the material so far as it focuses on how people learn differently and how the advancements in technology have impacted our cognitive abilities which is important to note as someone who wants to become a teacher! #EM203Robin
@EM203_oscar My group's learning theory was also behaviourism! It is an interesting concept to understand how we learn through rewards and punishments.
@em203_garyc I completely agree. The first few lessons have been very informative regarding how to learn using various methods of technology. It has changed the way the world is run and is important for now and the future.
During the first few weeks of class, the lessons have been very interesting especially lesson 1 where it outlined how technology has impacted learning making it more accessible as well as convenient. Great first weeks, looking forward to future lessons!! #EM203Robin
It is important to analyze the different ways in which we learn to foster personal growth and expand our capabilities of obtaining knowledge. There are epistemologies of learning as well as the three M's; multi-media, multi-modal, and multi-tasking (digital focus). #EM203Robin
