@EM203VictoriaM This is really interesting stuff. I feel like this issue is rarely ever talked about and is often overlooked. I’d be interested in learning more ways that we could help!

With this many First Nations in Ontario alone, it's hard to believe internet access within them is still an issue. Many communities and individuals are impacted by the lack of connection the broadband gap creates. #EM203Clarke

The oil sands industry is a massive carbon emissions producer in Canada. How can you help the environment and offset these emissions on a personal level?

I really enjoyed learning about Bloom's taxonomy this week in #EM203Clarke! It's wonderful that creativity is regarded as the highest form of thinking.

This has been such a unique and challenging semester to put it simply. I’m glad we all got through it and it really is hard to believe that its almost over. Good luck to everyone on your exams!

This article discusses the extent of Alberta’s oil sands, as well as some of the negative environmental effects that have resulted, and continue to occur because of them, including the rapid warming of Canada. A very eye opening article! #EM203Research nationalgeographic.com/environment/20…

@EM203mgibson your topic looks like a fun one to explore! Maybe you could focus on how pollution impacts a certain region. For example, fishing or oil drilling in Newfoundland. Is pollution a factor? #EM203problems

@EM203mcallender Hello Melissa, those first few weeks definitely were informative and I can already say I’ve learned a lot from this class which is always a good thing. My group focused on the learning-by-doing approach which was interesting to look at!

The first 3 weeks of EM203 have been very informative in regards to learning in the digital age. This week I learned about the 3 M's: multi-media, multi-modal and multi-tasking. I also enjoyed learning about behaviourism last week within my learning group. #EM203Clarke

@em203squbti Hi Sophie, I also did the sudoku puzzle. When I was younger I always wanted to learn how to do it but never did, so being able to take advantage of this opportunity and actually learn was pretty rewarding, although admittedly fairly frustrating at times.

@em203mcsanits Definitely! And I think that it is a really efficient way to learn. I always learn best when actually applying myself in a subject area rather than just, for example, hearing someone speak about it.

In the first three weeks of class in #EM203Clarke we have covered many things, including different learning theories! One of which is learning-by-doing. This theory is comprised of taking a hands on, action driven approach that allows you to learn from your mistakes as you go.

@EM203vedant Hi Vedant, I really enjoy how engaging this course is, as you pointed out. It allows us to interact and better understand the content. I’m not sure that online learning will ever be optimal from a strictly educationally point of view, but it is interesting to figure out.

The first lessons in EM203 have been very engaging and gratifying!! I can’t wait to learn more about how we learn in this digital age and whether if this new way of learning is optimal or the old school way is better #EM203Clarke

@em203jkout Hello Julia, I agree! This definitely came at a good time for us with everything being online. It also helps to know these learning theories and apply them to our online courses. I like that we’re learning relevant things that can be applied to our online education.

I have enjoyed learning about the different learning theories and how they apply to learning in the digital age especially since everything for school is online this year! My learning group focused on connectivism which I found very interesting #EM203Clarke
