Left-Sided Ductal Dependent CHD: Presents 1-2 weeks after ductus arteriosus closes w/ poor feeding, lethargy, irritability, and eventually shock. Hypoplastic left heart presents w/ cyanosis while critical aortic stenosis & coarctation of the aorta are acyanotic. #EMBoards

Kawasaki syndrome (cont'): Labs will show elevated LFTs, ESR/CRP, WBC, and Platelets. Manage w/ IVIG + high dose aspirin (80-100 mg/kg/day). Most cases are self-limited within 4 weeks while 20% of cases have complications (coronary artery aneurysms) #emergencymedicine #EMBoards
