@pilots4paws would there be a possibility for an emergency response category where in the event of evacuations in remote areas we could help evacuating citizens pets since studies show 50% of people that stay behind do so because of their pets.

@OntarioWarnings how often do you find people staying behind in emergency evacuations because they're not able to bring their pets with them? (there seems to often be limited space for people to bring things during evacuations)

Here's a picture that relates to my identified problem.

@em203kylaz Hi Kyla, I also found it super interesting learning about all the great topics covered by the first lesson. I think my favorite part was the stats of how people have been using the technology they have access to!

My first lessons in EM203 have been fascinating! I learned about learning theory, specifically connectivity, and the types of learning tasks and concepts that best support this theory. Excited to learn more! #EM203Robin

@EM203_kyles Hi Kyle, I totally agree with you on young people being highly connected but not necessarily using it for creative expression. Not that you need to always use it for something like that (I love a good Netflix break lol).

Young people, labeled "digital natives," are highly connected but mostly use tech for entertainment, not creative expression. Adults mirror this, spending significant time online too. Access doesn’t always mean deeper engagement. #EM203Robin

@WLUJaack Hi Jack, great insight into being mindful and not overloading yourself. With technology it can be easy to multitask when you can display all sorts of different information in front of you at once.

In today’s digital learning environments, the combination of visual and auditory content boosts understanding—BUT be mindful of cognitive overload. Research shows processing multiple tasks at once can harm performance, so balance is key! #EM203Robin

@Em203JayGr Hi Jayden, I also also found the part about using quizzes and flashcards very interesting as well. I also enjoyed learning about the use of technology in the learning environment these days.

Just wrapping up the first Module of #EM203Robin. Just learned how Behaviourism shapes learning using positive and negative reinforcement. Who knew using quizzes and flashcards actually made a difference??🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

@EM203kwilson Hi Katie, it's super cool how the course is teaching us about how important it is to talk about these different approaches to learning to make learning more effective and efficient.

This week in #EM203Robin, I learned about the use of multimedia in education. What stood out to me the most is how in order for the multimodal approach to be effective, the most appropriate modality must be used to present information, such as presenting verbal information orally

This course has given me great insight into alternate forms of learning compared to the "typical" way we cover content and complete assignments. I'm looking forward to seeing how this twitter challenge plays out! #EM203Robin
