@ConnorCLP1984 @ryantegan @toneyq73 I mean once you start down the moral road where do you stop really. Our morals are our own and chances are no two peoples moral stances are exactly the same. Its just not a workable barometer in the cold hard realities of big business.

@ConnorCLP1984 @ryantegan @toneyq73 Its completely unrealistic to think that any football club should not hire a man who has committed no crime purely on the basis that he thinks a third party who will have nothing to do with the club deserved a second chance. Are all OM players guilty too??

Anyone want to explain what De Zerbi did wrong regarding Greenwood? All I can see is he described him as a 'good guy' but didnt know the details of his past. He then stated that he felt Greenwood had paid 'a high price' referencing the public trial and exile from the UK

@SpursNews1961 Personally I dont think you can realistically refuse to employ someone who merely holds a certain opinion on such a complex issue as personal rehabilitation. Thats not a defense of anything thats just cold hard reality. I mean do you refuse to sign anyone who played with him?

@SpursNews1961 The problem here is people are arguing about Greenwoods actions when thats not what this is about. If my club wanted to sign a sex offender id be upset about it. Signing someone who believes an offender deserved a second chance is a much more nuanced argument than can be had on X

No wonder women who are victims of SA remain silent so often. The amount of men on this app defending Greenwood and De Zerbi is pretty grim. Been told I’m not a real Tottenham fan a number of times today because I don’t want my club to be associated with this… amazing.

@TimesSport This is not about what Greenwood did. If people wouldnt want him playing for them thats fair enough but how far do you take this stuff. Anybody who has ever worked with him subsequently should never be signed by another club? This is pure hysteria.

"Nobody is defending Greenwood’s alleged actions, or downplaying the seriousness of the original accusation. @LfcNuel I mean how far do we take stuff like this ? Anyone whos ever willingly worked with someone who is accused of something shouldnt ever be employed elsewhere? Thats hysterical stuff in the most literal sense of the word.

🚨 Roberto De Zerbi on the Tottenham fan protests regarding his relationship with Mason Greenwood: “I have seen the statements from the fans, but I am here to save Tottenham from relegation, not to be a politician. I said it in Marseille and I will say it again in London: Mason is my footballing son. When the whole world was against him, he gave everything for me. If the board gives me the budget this summer, he is the very first player I am calling to bring here. The fans have to make a choice — do you want to survive in the Premier League and win, or do you want to complain about the past?”

@ErikaMorris79 @WG_RumblePants Its like they decided the Green was going to be the next coming and nothing that has happened subsequently actually matters. The narrative says hes a big deal so therefore he is. Zero consequences quite a bit of that knocking around these days. Nice gig if you can get it though.

Intense, intense pressure and scrutiny on Cam Green here. No disrespect to him, but it’s hard to see him really living up to his huge price tag. Being sold for that amount of money must do funny things to a player’s mindset. Is he really that much more valuable than other similar players? And, as I type that, he’s gone. Cricket is hard.

@SugarDouglas @HLTCO Not to nearly the same extent. If Romero was taken off after twenty mins people might say its a tough call but nobody would be worrying about his mental state or saying his career was over. We need to normalise being able to sub keepers for poor play it would help GKs long term.

On a purely human level, that must be an incredibly difficult thing for Kinsky to deal with. Can’t ever remember seeing anything like it before. I’m sure it has happened that early to a keeper but I can’t recall it.

@HLTCO That said, Tudor stands indicted for picking him for this game in the first place and he certainly could have consoled him a bit.

@HLTCO GK cant be immune to being subbed imho if the centre back handed them two goals on a plate he'd be taken off and nobody would say anything. Obviously its tough on a human level but football is a tough business and its going to get tougher as the financial stakes continue to rise

Tell me if I’m wrong but when bowlers like Matt Henry were bowling the ball didn’t swing even a little. But when Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah started bowling suddenly the ball began to swing. Something felt strange in this match. I can’t believe a team like New Zealand played like that.

@Martynw34 In the long format comps Its a problem. Majors are basically a competition to see who's runner up to Littler. Having watched through the Taylor era im not sure Im going to do it again. Id rather watch 90 odd avgs and not know whos going to win personally. Not Littlers problem tho

I like Littler & he is great for the Sport as he is a sensational player but is it good for darts that he can play at best his B Minus game throughout the tournament & still walk away with the title ? I would say not #UKOpenDarts

Poor Cole McConchie: grabs two wickets in his first over in the semi-final, is taken out of the attack and is then dropped for the final. India would have been planning for him, so an interesting move from New Zealand to bring in Jacob Duffy as an extra seamer

@RobbieWWFC @ben_kew @andy_cov93 There are some really good womens footballers but the gap between the good ones and the rest is vast. Makes it hard to watch beyond the biggest games. That said the mens games I watched this evening were tedious so maybe its just that football in general is a bit meh just now.
