Jeff Bezos wants AI to approve Miami building permits in 10 seconds: “Miami should have an AI application that reads your building permit and it should give you a yes or a no in 10 seconds. Why does it take months and months and months to get a building permit? It doesn’t make any sense.”

@Prolerobach @zachglabman Your CS degree is not a discipline engineering degree. Sorry. Will need to go back and get an engineering undergrad or take some pre-reqs and do an engineering masters.

high school seniors, consider checking out a BS in mining engineering the entire US graduates 162 mining engineers per year. We’re going to need 500-600 per year just to sustain current operations given how much the US is expanding mining this year, this seems like a chokepoint

@SamtheNightOwl @zvxn21 Very versatile degree but not everyone is doing prototyping for R&D of new consumer products and a lot of people who enter the industry don’t understand that and are disappointed to learn how many different (and less exciting) things engineers actually do

@zvxn21 actually, i wouldn't know. mechanical engineering isn't something i know much about

Accounting, believe it or not. the underemployment rate is about as low as for mechanical engineering majors. everyone is scared off because they think it requires great math skill when it doesn't. everyone thinks AI will devour the field when it can't, either :)

⚾️ MLB Play of the Day Rangers - Blue Jays Over 4.5 (F5) -120 1.5U 8:05 PM Tyler Mahle has a 1.80 ERA this season. Obviously he’s not a pitcher who’s going to finish with those kind of numbers, he’s certainly going to regress. He has an xERA of 3.85 and xFIP of 4.16. Schultz and Lauer will take the first few innings of this game for the Blue Jays, and their numbers suggest some regression will come for them as well. First few games of this series have been low scoring but today the offenses should break out.

All of these organizations are international and none are exclusive organizations to any class of people. They result in one thing for our country: better engineers. To disband their student chapters is idiotic.
