@jorcubsdan The issue seemed to be more that they had 3 defenders 70+ feet from the hoop they're trying to defend. I get it might cost them a couple seconds to foul around the halfcourt line, but being so overextended left them vulnerable if they didn't execute the foul.

They’ve executed this strategy before and have been very vocal about the rationale. And I mean they lost the game by giving up a 3! Seems like fouling (maybe Stirtz misses, probably not), having 11+ seconds to win or otherwise go to OT was way better than this result

If Golden’s strategy was to foul Stirtz (an 84% FT shooter on the season) to give him a chance to tie the game up two…that is one of the dumbest strategies I have ever seen in an end of game scenario
