@ThePushbackHQ @moneillsf Stripping this of the context of centuries of colonialism and war crimes committed by the British and loyalists that led to these events? Would you condemn murders committed by the army or UVF? I doubt it.

We can never accept burning effigies of political representatives, flags or symbols as normal. In any other part of the world, this would be unfathomable and unacceptable. It should be no different here. This is hatred, rooted in ugly sectarianism and racism. Last night, effigies of political representatives, including myself, were placed on bonfires, surrounded by flags and emblems. Those responsible have nothing to offer except fear and division. But they will not succeed. I will not let hatred dictate our future. I will continue to build a future where all our children grow up free from hate.

@AskASillyQuesti @moneillsf So hatred should go unchallenged? We should be intolerant of intolerance and be unwavering in pushing back against those who express hatred towards us. How about you wind your neck in a bit, grow up and find a hobby other than hating your neighbours. Genuinely pathetic.

@moneillsf Legit been a thing "Forever". Moaning now is silly and won't get anywhere. People saying it "shouldn't take place" were never going to these events anyhow. So wind your neck in a bit, perhaps?

@moneillsf The Americans/bots claiming the burning of Irish symbols/effigies has anything to do with migration really showing their ignorance. Loyalism’s putrid hatred for Catholics long predates SF. Also SF doesn’t set immigration policy in ROI or NI. Learn our history before commenting 👍

@SJAMcBride Any discussion about immigration will never involve a British enforced hard border on the island of Ireland ever again. Move on to the next talking point because this one is a complete non starter. The consent of border areas for the GFA is dependent on that.

Belfast knife attack suspect Hadi Alodid was granted asylum under a fast-track application scheme introduced by two of Nigel Farage's senior colleagues. It meant he'd only to complete a Home Office questionnaire rather than attend a face-to-face interview. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-…

@MarkWilson1980 If paying taxes/citizenship is all that determines your nationality and not your cultural heritage and identity presumably you are happy to call all the newly arrived immigrant population British as well? Many in your community are not. Just querying the inconsistency.

@51Batman Amazing restraint and maturity shown by those on the march for Gaza. Really displays the difference in decorum between both sides. If only provocative, loyalist, sectarian orange order marches which force their way through nationalist towns every year showed that much restraint.

Network issues throughout but the pro Gaza terror march has walked past Scarva in Northern Ireland against the wishes of local residents. Last year’s Gaza march terrorised the local community with locals in a coffee shop threatened. Residents opposed the foreign march this year.

@CromRedoubt Maybe if Britain had more people willing to martyr themselves you wouldn’t be in the dire position you’re in now. Thatcherite individualism was the death of your nation and perhaps that was the moral of the hunger strikes when the history is written.

@CromRedoubt His death facilitated the rise of SF and now you have an SF first minister, an Irish Sea border, PUL as a minority and hopefully an end to partition in the coming decades as demography continues to shift. The arc of history is long and each generation builds on those before.

@MOSSADil And yet no regime change and Iran still controls the strait of Hormuz and can hit Israel directly with ballistic missiles. The strategic miscalculation was forgetting superior firepower does not always win wars. The lessons of Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine etc ignored. Hubris.

@bog_gary @ultras_antifaa Genetically distinct, culturally significantly divergent and politically resistant to ever being considered British. Either you’re just an internet troll or you’re too blinded by hate to realise that nothing will ever change the fact that your neighbours will never be British

@bog_gary @ultras_antifaa Hardly anything about his identity links him to the island of Britain. He has millennia of Irish heritage that no amount of colonial gaslighting can eradicate. A temporary political arrangement which his descendants will look upon as peculiarity on the path to liberation 🇮🇪

@NorthsideBiy @FeelinDespair Your kin selling their fellow countrymen down the river is not the flex you think it is, an act of cowardice… And the millennia of heritage that shape the Irishness of northerner Ulstermen can not be eradicated by any border drawn by Brits and partitionist spineless cowards 🤫🇮🇪

💔 We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of our dear friend and comrade Mickey Brady. A lifelong republican activist who dedicated himself to the people of Newry and Armagh and to the freedom of our country. Mickey believed so fully in the promise of a United Ireland and a better future. He was devoted to his family, a champion of his community who fought the corner of ordinary people every day. Serving as both a Sinn Féin MLA and later MP, Mickey never gave up the fight for equality, justice and a better Ireland for all. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all those who knew him and of the thousands of people he so generously and courageously helped along his way. A working class hero from the streets of Newry, Mickey will be sorely missed but remembered every day. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

@vanderbilt75943 @JonahDispatch Your comment is so pitifully historically ignorant. Would all of those bombs have been planted if Carson and Craig hadn’t imposed partition to create a “Protestant state for a Protestant people”? Or Terence O’Neill being ousted for one man one vote? Or UWC sinking Sunningdale?

@JonahDispatch Actual Irish history is they accepted partition, got on with their own state, and ultimately recognized they could not bomb Ulster Protestants into submission. And they still resent the hell out of the fact. So, yeah, it's all projection of their own issues all the way down.

@MaxNordau If the US repatriates those companies those companies will no longer be profitable 😂. It’s a business decision with a strategic logic. Like who is stopping these companies from leaving? Has it actually been an Irish cabal running the world all along? 🕵️‍♂️🇮🇪

The Irish ethnostate collapses tomorrow if the U.S. repatriates the companies that use it as a tax haven. The Irish ethnostate collapses in 20 years anyway, thanks to its immigration policies.
