Rosemarie Reichert’s Horticulture class at TSP created winter-themed arrangements for the Winter District Contact Meeting at Milliken Tech. The students created the floral designs, and sponge painted the containers to resemble gray stone with shimmering snow-like crystals.

Congratulations to the winners of the Cosmetology hairstyling competition in Carolyn McKillop’s class at #MillikenTech. First, second and third place winners are Gabriella Monjes Soto, @comsewoguehs; Denver Williams, @BayShoreSchools; and Paulina Leon Salas, @ConnetquotCSD.

Physical Therapy Aide students studied the respiratory system. They learned techniques to help post-operative patients who’ve undergone abdominal or open-heart surgery, and how to use an incentive spirometer, a device that helps those after surgery or a lung ailment diagnosis.

Bob Vecchio, @nssba, shares ideas with school district leaders on ways to forge strong alliances with state legislators to benefit our schools at the annual SCSSA Advocacy Workshop.

Bixhorn Tech held a college fair so students could speak with reps from private, state and technical colleges, and the military and state police. Many CTE students advance their education in their chosen fields, leveraging the head start their CTE training has provided.

It was a Winter Funderland at Westhampton Beach Learning Center leading to holiday recess. Winter holidays around the world were celebrated with students experiencing craft activities, gross motor skills, and sensory activities that met the needs of the school’s diverse students.

Thank you to the staff at Medford Multicare Center for helping to organize our Project SEARCH toy drive! Project SEARCH is an ESBOCES program administered through #IslipCareerCenter and provides employment training for students.

The Suffolk PBA continued its efforts to spread holiday cheer by visiting the kids at Sayville Elementary School. Santa Claus and the men and women in blue made a special appearance, bringing joy to the children. They distributed candy canes, coloring books, and crayons, which brought smiles to all the kids' faces. The PBA wishes a happy holiday season to all the students and staff at Sayville Elementary School.

Frankie in Taylor Terhaar’s Welding class at #ICC recently mentored a classmate during a trailer restoration. She identified the repairs that needed to be made, demonstrated safe and proper technique, explained the process, assisted, and provided feedback. #Mentorship

Congrats to the #BixhornTech students who competed in the Ready, Set, Lead Business Competition at @stjoesny. The competition challenged students to demonstrate their business skills through scenarios and topics ranging from sports marketing to entrepreneurship and design.

Auto Body students in Brian LaBarba’s class at #MillikenTech are repairing suspension components, installing bumper covers, re-aligning frames, and more. What they learn in class will prepare them for successful careers right out of high school. #MarketableSkills
