@KenCalvert We pay more in taxes because you keep giving all the breaks to billionaires and corporations. We pay more in healthcare because you have systematically dismantled everything that worked about the ACA. And red states have plenty of fraud. Stop lying.

This is outrageous. Time and time again, Democrat-led states like Minnesota and California have turned a blind-eye to fraud on a massive scale. As a result you pay more in taxes and experience higher healthcare costs.

I voted to pay our air traffic controllers. Every California Democrat in Congress voted against paying them. The votes we cast in Congress have real world consequences. It's time for Democrats to join Republicans in ending the shutdown and paying our federal employees.

The Democrats just said the quiet part out loud. They lost the election last year, so they are using the shutdown as leverage even though they know it means families are going to suffer. They are putting politics before people time and again.

@KenCalvert I called your office to ask about the source of your chart on the right. Here's what I was told: "There's no source per se. It's just the inverse of the green. So if you didn't vote for the bill, then you don't get the things in it." To call that the "Democrat's plan" is a lie.

Every vote is a choice between two alternatives. Today's vote was no different. I chose to support the plan that cuts taxes for my constituents, secures our nation and border, and protects healthcare while putting in place reasonable work requirements for Medicaid and food aid.
