Using the acronym “DEI” without explaining it is lazy and annoying. It forces every reader to pause and decode three letters instead of just saying what is actually meant. This habit is increasing — especially in education and now with AI tools — and it’s unintelligent. It replaces clear language with insider jargon, erodes precision, and turns ordinary English into a coded slogan that assumes agreement rather than inviting scrutiny. If the idea is strong, spell it out. If it can’t survive plain words, that’s the problem.

The spelling correction here on X is noticeably weaker than Safari. Basic words often get missed or changed, forcing people to switch apps just to write accurately. Better system-level spell-check would make posting a lot smoother
