@hasumpstuffedup Im glad. Im not sure why the player didnt pass it straight back to the umpire but as you said, 1 second max in a time difference due to it and it wasnt out of disrespect or an attempt to time waste. sometimes the situation needs to be considered aswell,.

Technically correct. There's no reason once the ball-up is called to hand it to a teammate, rather than the umpire. It is a form of time wasting. That said, its A very technical interpretation. I would not be paying that. But can't say it's a wrong decision #AFLFreoPies

For what it's worth - I agree running too far is often missed. I've called out some egregious misses before. As a group, umps must get better at calling them. But that only underscores how good today's decision was, fantastic umpiring skill in the key moment #AFLPiesCrows
