We cant even buy granite, sandstone or marble blanks. I tried buying some 4'x6' blocks of marble & the main company in America never even responded back to me. I love those premium natural resources!

This is a big mistake & why you would ever choose French ANYTHING is beyond me. It's a losing move that is detrimental to German national security & defense. The BfD along with the Bundestag needs to get their head out of their behind & realize the mistake they are making. Palantir is the best in the world & nobody else is or will ever come close. Is Palantir really even American? Alex Karp speaks German, lived in Germany, hires Germans & the list goes on & on.

@faraz_r_khan They are PERFECT for one off prototypes and you have to network man. I thought you had a CNC machine that you were looking for work though?!?!

@EV_Trapper For one off prototypes? Who are these shops and how do I find them?

There are lots of good arguments to make here, but ultimately it boils down to a superior customer experience going with SendCutSend. They will never be able to beat JLCNC on straight price, but SCS can & will beat them in quality, precision & customer service. You buy from SendCutSend or one of the machinists in your state to help support American manufacturing. It's easier for most people outside of California because we don't have to pay those INSANE $40k Environmental review fees.

Getting a couple simple parts machined. Sendcutsend is cheapest at $568, JLCCNC is $204 after 100% tariffs. Both include shipping. I love America but why would you ever order from SCS at this price? Does it make more sense at higher volume?

I understand & agree with that, but accessibility to easy manufacturing for America is the main reason from my perspective. If you don't know, there is around 100M Americans who would never order anything custom from an overseas shop. SCS will get cheaper, but there are lots of other great American shops who can beat SCS price as well as Xometry! You want to try to find what are called "Cottage Shops", they to me are the absolute best & a critical part of American manufacturing!

@EV_Trapper Actually the economic reason is that they beat on timing. For an engineering team that’s rapidly prototyping a day is easily worth 3x the price.

The stacks of 3D printed production continue to increase and so much that I've ran out of room! In just one day, I could make around 1000 of these & for a cost that injection molding cannot come close to. Strength wise & functionality wise, these are more than adequate & they are also poly carbonate! Everything here is MADE IN LOUISIANA & it's incredible that we are manufacturing metal, wood & plastic items! All of it is very very exciting! 😍🇺🇸

Never underestimate 3D printing as a means of production. Of course I want to use injection molding, but the dies are too expensive.

@EV_Trapper Capital is scarce? Complete horseshit. I build things. The money goes to financial engineering instead of machines. We fund everything except actual production.

For us here in the South, the primary wood of choice is Southern Yellow Pine. It's very important to our culture & way of life, but Cypress, Oak, Sweetgum and a few others are also used quite frequently. Later this year I will finish one of my closets "in cedar", always wanted that! 😍😍

Congratulations to the three newest Louisiana river boat pilots! These young men will join the ranks of bar pilots, responsible for the movement of 500 million tons of cargo a year— $7 billion in economic value. I know each of their futures are bright and am proud to have them here in Louisiana!
