There is undeniably an "absolute link" between Fine Gael housing policy and homelessness. There's no votes in that for @SimonHarrisTD so he's blaming immigration. He's a nasty individual.

Extremely disappointing to see this from Simon Harris. Pitting two vulnerable groups against each other who are both suffering because of dire state policy is extremely worrying and dangerous territory.

Example of consequences of State policy. Sleep rough to prove eligibility for accommodation but put self at risk. Or try find temporary, precarious accommodation but be deemed self-accommodated and lose eligibility. Meanwhile volunteers pick up pieces. irishtimes.com/ireland/dublin…

Am once again putting out a call for adults coats/jackets and shoes for men and women in the direct provision centre! Or any clothes that are of good quality (nothing ripped or dirty or worn). We have lots of kids stuff atm so don’t need anymore right now! Thank you @EW_here4all

Tomorrow, over 3,000 international protection applications with right to remain will be forced out from their accommodation. But there is no certainty that they will find housing elsewhere. This is a deeply cynical decision from the govt. @GaryGannonTD
