De Avila told lawyers he was dragged face-down across the floor and beaten so severely he lost consciousness twice. He arrived at Shikma with visible bruising around his left eye, reporting restricted movement and intense pain in his hand. He was kept blindfolded and in isolation from the moment of his capture until transfer to the Israel Prison Service, more than two days later. He said he was interrogated by the Shabak intelligence agency and told he would face further interrogation by the Mossad on suspicions of “affiliation with a terrorist organization.” Israeli authorities refused to provide details of the accusations to Adalah’s lawyers. Abukeshek reported being kept hand-tied, blindfolded, and forced to lie face-down on the floor from the moment of seizure until arriving at Shikma this morning, leaving bruising on his face and hands. He also reported Shabak interrogation on the same suspicion. Both men have declared a hunger strike. They are due in Ashkelon Magistrates’ Court on Sunday, May 3, for a detention extension hearing.
