@ze1ix I’ve always differentiated the two when talking to friends as Hajime no Ippo is about boxing Ashita no Joe is about Boxers Of course this isn’t like an absolute or anything but it’s how I get the message across.

I'll have to agree tbh, Ashita No Joe is there but I consider that more of a life philosophy type manga, I'm sure there's a better term to describe it but you catch my drift. In terms of pure sports manga Hajime No Ippo is unrivaled for me

If there is ever one show I would reccommend with the upmost seriousness and sincerity, it would be Ashita no Joe. Yeah it's old and that may turn some people off, but god damn, it's a masterpiece of work.
