@JTruedeau Fantastic news in fact. More to follow soon.

How strong is your majority?
Governance's built-in data visualisation tools offer you the ability of seeing just who's voting for you and where, and who you need to appeal to flip wards and keep your seat come the next election.

@billyfeather33 @JTruedeau @YouChampoReds @bobbyGDlumb @PlayGovernance yeah - I have seen games get approval after 3 days
English

@JTruedeau @E_Bri55 @YouChampoReds @bobbyGDlumb @PlayGovernance i'd bet on tommorow most likely for release. it doesnt always take 5-7 days for approval.

We've had a few questions about why we're using fictional political parties in the game version of Governance despite the realist focus. The answer is more complicated than you think.
Parties don't really sue people for defamation. However, people can - and they do! There is always the chance with a random common name generator that it lands - unintentionally of course - on a name taken up by someone in politics. By putting that person in a real life party, we easily risk identifying them and creating actionable libel. It is *not* a copyright infringement as some have claimed - it is a safeguard against creating fake information.
It is simply avoiding a situation where defamation could occur - one of the fundamentals of media law.
(Following some feedback, we have removed 'Democrat' as a random option for the party of the centre-left.)

@JTruedeau @billyfeather33 @YouChampoReds @bobbyGDlumb @PlayGovernance yeah I get where your coming from - i think thats why he's holding onto a steam release in the coming days for as long as possible - so that it looks 'official' and 'professional'
English

@E_Bri55 @billyfeather33 @YouChampoReds @bobbyGDlumb @PlayGovernance I’d suggest he use his website but I can see how some people would find it sketchy
English

@JTruedeau @billyfeather33 @YouChampoReds @bobbyGDlumb @PlayGovernance I thought it was earlier than that, but I guess we'll see. The only thing we do 100% know is that Friday is the last business day - so its gotta be that day or he'll probably put it on a different platform.
English

@billyfeather33 @YouChampoReds @E_Bri55 @bobbyGDlumb @PlayGovernance I think it was either Thursday or Wednesday last week. So we’ll see
English

@JTruedeau @billyfeather33 @bobbyGDlumb @PlayGovernance I believe it’s the dev. Im placing my bets on tomorrow.
English

@billyfeather33 @bobbyGDlumb @E_Bri55 @PlayGovernance Yeah, and I have no clue about this, but does the dev need to give final say about if the game goes on sale or does steam do it automatically? If it’s the dev that says so then it might be tomorrow. If not then today we should probably see something.
English

@JTruedeau @PlayGovernance @bobbyGDlumb Okay, well we‘ll see what happens but every hour it ticks and no update the more desperate I am lol 😂
English

@E_Bri55 @PlayGovernance @bobbyGDlumb For context there’s no Bank holiday in the US or Canada so I don’t think it should affect if Steam is reviewing the game or not.
English

@JTruedeau @PlayGovernance @bobbyGDlumb Pleaseeeeeee be today...although its a bank holiday so doubt it......
English

@PlayGovernance @bobbyGDlumb I looked it up and they don’t count weekends so my bet is either tomorrow or Tuesday, Thursday latest
English

@PlayGovernance Okay, thanks for explaining and tbh it's better to be safe than sorry. I don't mind the names anyway, but I get why people do find it strange. As long as it doesn't affect the gameplay I'm okay with it tbh :)

@PlayGovernance @Levi61767241 @billyfeather33 mannn, im starving bro...please release it lol - us UK folks have not had a UK political sim thats good for ages, perhaps this is the first one lol.
English

@Levi61767241 @billyfeather33 They did win it in 2024 with a similar share… I believe in the sim, that candidate was locally more popular than the rivals
English

@PlayGovernance Great addition! Shame it’s not releasing today or this weekend.. I hope it’s worth the wait!
English

We are happy to say that the Governance will now be shipping with two start dates, 2024 and 2026.
2024 sees the 'party of power' in its worst position for 30 years... can it change course?
And 2026 sees two new upcoming parties ready to usher in multi-party politics into Britain...

@E_Bri55 Referendums will come at some point in the future, as the focus will be currently on getting domestic policy and economic simulation working fully.
English

Governance simulates more than just left and right. Beliefs are deeper than that and are hard to quantify. Sometimes they're contradictory!
Governance supports this with our fluid Belief system, containing a multivariate scoring system internally to connect beliefs with policy positions. Make informed decisions as an MP based on your beliefs... or ignore that for the cash!
