Hopefully this will be my last reply. If you're a man, it's a waste of mental/emotional energy to resent those who have advantages you don't. Acknowledge it exists and make the most of your opportunities when they come. Advantages can be squandered, disadvantages can be overcome.

I had a former younger female colleague that’s legitimately beautiful and as soon as she was hired, our practice group chair took her under his wing. She became partner in record time. Meanwhile they ground me into the ground until I burned out. This is definitely a thing.

The reason I don’t stream is almost everyone in the space is disingenuous.
The incentive for superchats is too high and so it’s just relentless drama that’s a distraction from the mission of the culture war.

Solid choice, but the whole "forgoing profit" doesn't compute with our side unfortunately. Which is why so many on the right look at the arts as something to be ignored. And the culture suffers for it.

Ark had a choice of 3 winning plays:
1) Buy up 20th c. name authors' backlists (the equivalent of Michael Jackson buying the Beatles catalog)
2) throw $$$ at young authors with real street cred like @HariSel57511397
3) go full vanity press, foregoing profit to give new authors mainstream visibility.
Those options are mutually exclusive. They had to pick one. Instead they ran the same old script.

If we are talking new AAA games this probably holds true. They cost more now. Most of them are trash. Why bother. On the other hand with services like steam and gog having multiple big sales a year I think the two games a year report doesn't make sense.

There is a certain demographic of gamer who will literally only ever buy the new Call of Duty, Madden, or FIFA (EA FC now) and absolutely nothing else all year. Other than that, quality AAA titles do seem to be far fewer in between now, sadly.
