@BobGraySr They renamed the church you pastored because the name in the community was so bad. Why would anyone take your advice seriously?

SCP DAILY MINISTRY IDEA - Sunday School Campaigns. In order to grow numerically we must have definitive isolated times to emphasize numbers in all ministries that will boost Sunday school numbers. At LBT we scheduled 2 big Sundays a year for 30 years preceded by a SS campaign of 6 to 8 weeks. The results can be savored for weeks with numerous prospects. DECORATE, DECORATE, DECORATE! Have each ministry come up with their own campaign and goals with the church wide theme. Reward workers each Wednesday night. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!

SCP DAILY MINISTRY IDEA - Googling. The internet is a poor judge of character. It remembers sin, but not repentance. It highlights failure, but not restoration. It spreads truth and lies, but not grace. Yet many Christians form opinions, pass judgment, and even condemn others based on what they google without knowing the full story. 1) Only God knows the whole truth (I Samuel 16:7) 2) Do not judge by appearance or reputation (John 7:24) 3) Beware of false witnesses and slander (Proverbs 6:16-19) 4) Love believes the best until proven otherwise (I Corinthians 13:7) 5) Do not spread or entertain gossip (Proverbs 18:8) 6) 7) We will be judges by the same measure we use (Matthew 7:1-2) 8) Words can be a world of iniquity (James 3:5-6) 9) God hates the sowing of discord (Proverbs 16:28) 10) The accuser of the brethren is Satan, not us. (Revelation 12:10) 11) Many good men were falsely accused in Scripture. (Matthew 5:11; Genesis 39:12-20; Nehemiah 6:5-8; Acts 24:5-13) 12) Restoration is God's plan and not permanent condemnation (Galatians 6:1) 13) What we read or hear must be tested (I Thessalonians 5:21) 14) The measure of a man is his present walk with God (Philippians 3:13-14) 15) The blessed man avoids the counsel of the ungodly (Psalm 1:1) 16) The internet lacks mercy while God does not lack mercy (Matthew 5:7) 17) What we hear should be confirmed, not assumed (Proverbs 16:13) 17) Spreading what we read without discernment is sin (Exodus 23:1) 18) Words can be weapons (Proverbs 12:18) 19) The golden rule applies to judgment (Luke 6:31) 20) The internet keeps records of wrongs while God does not. (Psalm 103:12)

Ah. I'd forgot about @GuyBeaumont I crossed swords with him years ago. His comments here, esp. the one highlighted, says it all. FTR: He's the man who not only positively quotes those whom he accuses as false gospellers, but let's the tweets sit for years in his Twitter feed. 🙄

Hi @drjefffugate Recently you interviewed @drjohnnhamblin on this subject. A false attack was made upon #Calvinism which was a bit rich coming from Hamblin who proudly stood at the statue of Whitefield, and extolled his great zeal. Will these coming interviews also be farcical?

SCP DAILY MINISTRY IDEA - Financial Debt. Calculate how much tithe and offerings you owe God. Set a plan in motion to get caught up. From here on give God the tithe and offerings first. Get a financial advisor. Give them control over your finances until the plan becomes second nature to you. The first 60 days are the roughest. Keep your mind on the big picture. Do not depend on the government to sustain you. Start paying off the smallest debt first. When it is paid off use the monthly payment amount and add it to the next smallest debt. There will be a snowball effect on the rest of your debt. There will be more people in Hell for a lack of cash than because you cuss! Matthew 6:33 says to "...seek the kingdom of God first..." You cannot seek God and ignore kingdom work of winning souls! Finances can be both a curse and a blessing! Be a good steward and make it a blessing!

Before the King James Bible, there was a translation that changed everything. Printed in exile. Smuggled into England. Hated by kings. Loved by reformers. This is the story of the Geneva Bible. [a 🧵 thread… 👇🏼]

Reading a book by Jack Hyles today, and all how it stirs my heart for God to do something great through my soul winning and church building. If we would stop trying to correct the past, and stop making salvation difficult, we might be motivated to do something great. Here's an excerpt from what I read today from Bro Hyles. “I'm not a great preacher. I don't profess to be a great Christian. I just profess to serve a great God Who is the same yesterday, today and forever, and Who will give revival when God's people pay the price! I believe that II Chronicles 7:14 is still valid, and while the ultra-dispensationalists are saying it cannot happen today, there are men of God all over America who are seeing it happen! More people are being baptized today than in the history of the United States of America. More great soul-winning churches are being built than have ever been built. Let the dusty theologians say it can't be done, but give me a generation of young preachers on fire for God who believe the Word of God, believe the promises of God and claim the blessings of God, and we will prove by the grace of God that it can be done today!"

When is the last time you preached a sermon about Heaven? Many Christian’s who’ve gone to church all their adult lives (especially those under fifty) can't recall having heard a single sermon on Heaven. It’s occasionally mentioned, but rarely emphasized, and almost never is it developed as a topic. We’re told how to get to Heaven, and that it’s a better destination than Hell, but we’re taught remarkably little about Heaven itself. -Randy Alcorn, Heaven

I’m reading a book by Dr. Jack Hyles, and he gives a list of principles he follows as boundaries on fellowship. We would do good to adopt these principles as our own. “For years I have set boundaries on my fellowship, as follows: (1) I do not fellowship with those who want to argue. (2) I try not to fellowship with those who just want to talk. (3) I will not join in criticism of persons. (4) I will not listen to nor share gossip. (5) I will avoid discussing bad truth. (6) I will do no second-party counseling. In other words, I will not counsel with someone for another so that they can take my counsel to a friend or loved one. (7) I put a time limit on light conversation. (8) I refrain from giving my opinion unless I feel it will help. (9) I am always for the one who is attacked. I defend the one who is absent. (10) I try never to believe bad about anybody. In other words, when I hear a rumor about someone, I do not believe it. (11) I try not to have an opinion about something unless my opinion is needed. (12) I do not seek to know bad news or something bad that a person is alleged to have done.”

Looking at you social gospel types... If you read history, you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next. The Apostles themselves, who set on foot the conversion of the Roman Empire, the great men who built up the Middle Ages, the English Evangelicals who abolished the Slave Trade, all left their mark on Earth, precisely because their minds were occupied with Heaven. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this. Aim at Heaven and you will get earth ‘thrown in’: aim at earth and you will get neither. - C. S. Lewis (1898-1963)
