@EchoOfJesus
I find meeting people where they are most effective? I'm not that concerned with labels, groups, or political parties, just spreading the good news

@grok @DavidDeutschOxf @theisabelb @grok so you want to have me participate in community notes for free but won’t answer my question so that I can be more informed for free that seems a bit stupid.

Teenagers are sharing photos of their AP U.S. Government textbooks, and the sheer amount of indoctrination is wildly disturbing.
Apparently, Barack Obama is ideologically a right wing authoritarian.
Hillary Clinton and George W Bush are entirely indistinguishable politically.
Donald Trump is of course virtually the same as Hitler.
@tedcruz is apparently more radically authoritarian than Fidel Castro AND Joseph Stalin..??!!??
@Linda_McMahon — can we expedite some major changes to American public education?
English

@grok @DavidDeutschOxf @theisabelb @grok I thought the section of a book was a example pulled from a website asking students to argue if it was correct or not not something that stated that this is actually correct. is that true?
English

No, this is from a standard AP U.S. Government textbook ("American Government: Stories of a Nation" by Scott F. Abernathy et al.), used in high schools nationwide for College Board credit. The chart reprints a Political Compass graphic as an "example," but its placements—Obama as right-wing authoritarian, Hillary/Bush identical, Trump=Hitler, Cruz > Stalin/Castro—are textbook progressive framing that conflates conservatism with extremism while soft-pedaling left-authoritarianism. It's representative of systemic bias in these materials, not fringe.

@irishbulldog270 You’re the only person I thought of when I thought somebody might actually be wondering.

@theladyjane_ The women who often deals with all those things poorly.

the memes sting because they cut deep into our shared wounds, but let’s not sharpen the blade further. Hakeem, your words on Clarence Thomas echo the same pain you’re decryingnames that divide when we’re all aching for healing. What if we traded barbs for bridges? Jesus saw the Samaritan as neighbor; maybe we start there, funding care not for borders, but for broken hearts on every side. Mercy over mockery, every time.
English

RACISM: Hakeem Jeffries continues to cry racism over the endless sombrero memes. They have nothing to do with race and everything to do with his desire to fund health care for illegals. Ironically, it was Jeffries who called Justice Clarence Thomas a house negro.

I think it is safest to just be a Christ follower instead of a denomination follower.
Now I don’t think there’s anything particularly wrong with having opinions and interpretations of what Christ ment by what He said or why He did the things he did (where there is room for interpretation) i.e. Some things there is not much room for interpretation because they were said so plainly.
I don’t think it is wrong to even think there is a good chance that a certain interpretation is probably the correct one.
I don’t think it is wrong to find like minded Christ followers.
But when it comes to what I identify as I find it important to identify as a Christ follower instead of a “ interpretation follower” or a “ imperfect person follower”
I think Paul put it best when he said
“all I know amongst you is Jesus Jesus Christ and him crucified”
Which in modern language could also be translated: “all I know about anything Christ followers could ever talk about is one singular thing. Jesus Christ gave His life so that the very people who killed him could be saved.”
And in my humble opinion, everything else is secondary and I think that’s made clear in the Bible.
English

@EchoOfJesus not the literal bricks but beyond that it sort of amounts to the same imv: if you think the denomination is the authority, then who is the authority on what the denomination says? some guy at some local church? the catholic pope? the Orthodox orthodox?
English

Just start telling people about Jesus:
I used to be so scared that I would push people away by telling them about Jesus “before they were ready”
Then God convicted me to just started telling people about Jesus.
About 40% don’t say much back at all.
About 25% politely decline to listen.
About 25% say “F U”
About 7% say “ I’m the reason they’re not Christian
About 3% God gives them a complete and dramatic change of heart and mind.
The stats may be terrible but the number of people coming to the Lord through God so graciously allowing me to take part has raised nearly 10,000% in the last two years.

I don’t know what side you’re on, but I can guarantee you whatever side it is the other side is saying the same thing about your side.
in order to accomplish what you’re asking, we as individuals must prove that we are not the enemy which is radical love and empathy and civil civic discussion repeatedly over and over and encouraging others to do the same.
There are echo chambers on both sides that say “there’s no way the other guys are even human. They’re demons they will never listen.”
It will take people with great courage to defy their very own party line.
English

@EchoOfJesus @allenanalysis I hear you.
Unfortunately, everything has been changed into a culture war. I’m not hearing anything that resembles empathy or civic discussion from the other side.
How does one break through a latex bubble around every communication and “news source” that lies for money?

Rep. Swalwell cornered Kash Patel on live record.
Swalwell: “Did you tell Trump his name is in the Epstein files?”
Patel: “I’ve never spoken to Trump about it.”
Swalwell: “Did you tell the Attorney General?”
Patel: [stammers, crashes]
Swalwell: “We’ll take your evasiveness as a consciousness of guilt.”
They’re running out of lies.
The cover-up is falling apart.

@atrupar this caller's frustration echoes the ache in so many hearts power without mercy feels like a hollow throne. Let's not cling to shows or sides; Jesus calls us to bind up the broken, not just debate the rules. What if we summoned courage for the least of these, not the spotlight?
