~A mother, an educator and a dreamer.~ Let kids be kids. If kids don’t have a connection to nature why would they take care of It? Get outside!

🌳 Happy National Tree Day, Canada! Today, our kindergarteners celebrated by embarking on an exciting tree hunt! We also read “Picture a Tree"by Barbara Reid, which inspired us to visualize and draw our own trees. It was a day filled with creativity and discovery! @dsbn @ParkScho2

Embracing the sunshine and perfect weather to hone our lacrosse skills today! Did you know #lacrosse originated as a game played by the First Nations peoples, it was a way to resolve conflicts, celebrate victories, and honour the Creator. @GainsboroughPS @dsbn

Bill Gates, at COP 28: "The issue of food systems and how with climate change, a lot of farmers aren't able to grow their crops, which is a tragedy for them. We'll talk about using innovation to absolutely solve that problem." Globalist doublespeak translation: Due to our deliberate war on agriculture, a lot of farmers aren't able to grow their crops, which is a blessing for us because it allows us to replace traditional agriculture with insect farms and fake meat laboratories, in order to assume absolute control of the global food supply, under the guise of "saving the planet".

Earth Week ended strong in our community! Families came together to decorate pots and plant seeds from our local seed library. Learning about bees and honey was enlightening, and thanks to Copernicus, we got free coniferous trees to plant. @GainsboroughPS @dsbn @DSBNOutdoorED

Penning letters to the Once-ler from The Lorax, channeling our inner truffula trees! Using reused gift tissue paper and sticks, we created a forest of truffula trees, each pleading to spare our habitat. Art meets activism in this eco-friendly display. @GainsboroughPS @dsbn

Yesterday, our grade 3 and 4 students crafted bird nests from natural materials. Today, we put them to the test against gravity, wind forces and tested if they could hold a load. The results? Impressive structures standing strong. @GainsboroughPS @DSBNOutdoorED

We kicked off Earth Month this week by running some activities for the EcoSchool days at the Walker Living Campus of @DSBNOutdoorED ! We educated students from across the Niagara region on the full lifecycle of food and the importance of composting. The first workshop on Apr 2 happened to fall on the 10-year anniversary of the ground-breaking of this incredible campus that provides amazing opportunities for outdoor and environmental education for students. With two sessions completed and one more to go, we're excited to encourage youth to discover, explore, learn and play more in nature. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from our hardworking team during Earth Month! 🌱☀🌳 . . . #DSBNWalkerLivingCampus #ecoschool #EarthMonth #compost #foodcycle #education #environment #SustainableFuture

Hiking adventure today: naming wild edibles! Remember, safety first! Always positively identify plants before tasting, and stick to known edibles until you're confident. Happy foraging and stay safe out there! #Foraging #WildEdibles
