We made delicious Rainbow🌈carrot🥕 cake🍰in cooking club👩‍🍳 this week! Ss worked in teams to prep their cakes & icing. One group also made their cake gluten free. We used carrots🥕frozen from our school garden!🪴We had a lot of fun making a mess & enjoying our cakes together!

Another really unique Master Chef🧑‍🍳 recipe by Ss in my class! This group presented a couscous stir fry. Many Ss had never tried couscous so it was fun to try something new. Their sauce used tomatoes 🍅 from our school garden! @dsbn @JamesMordenDSBN @EcoSchoolsCAN @LSF_LST

Our January Fresh Falls Market! Ss work so hard to run our low cost produce market🥕🍌🧅🫑🍊🥔! Every month, families can purchase a bag for only $5! Thank you @UWNiagara & @LSF_LST for funding support. HUGE shout out to Sarah @NRPublicHealth. Would not be possible without her.

A fantastic presentation this week talking about Lunar New Year🧧from two students who celebrate in our class! We learned a lot about how different the celebration is depending on where your family is from! 🇰🇷🇻🇳 @dsbn @JamesMordenDSBN

These Ss worked so hard to prep their Master Chef dish to present to the class. They made air fryer falafel🧆with garlic🧄sauce wrapped in a pita🥙along with a side salad🥗fresh from our @vireoeducation hydroponics! It was delish! @dsbn @JamesMordenDSBN @EcoSchoolsCAN @LSF_LST

This amazing Master Chef👩‍🍳group batch cooked a vegetable lasagna & banana brownies to present to the class! Their dishes were aligned with the Canada Health Food Guide & the taste was such a hit! Tomatoes🍅 & zucchini were from our school garden. Bravo! 👏

Ss have been learning about Emily Carr & how she used her art to advocate for the environment. Ss researched clear cutting vs. deforestation & then investigated human activities with an any tree of their choice. Their art 🖼️ visually honours their tree. @artcaninstitute

We set up some really cool STEM stations for our @JamesMordenDSBN Winter Festival! @LEGO_Education robot racing, @makeymakey banana🍌piano🎹& gaming controllers🎮, & our Fresh Falls Market info booth! We served up some student made salsa with 🍅&🫑from our garden! @dsbn @LSF_LST

Cooking Club is back @JamesMordenDSBN!🧑‍🍳We had fun with Ms. Croce teaching Ss how to use our @vireoeducation hydroponics fresh basil & parsley🌿to make the most delish pesto! We also whipped up our famous garden tomato🍅sauce! @dsbn @LSF_LST @EcoSchoolsCAN @WholeKidsFnd

Salad days are becoming a tradition in my class! For years, Ss have been growing their own lettuce🥬in the @vireoeducation hydroponics, harvesting tomatoes🍅from our JAM GAM Roots Garden, and prepping a delicious salad!🥗 So many life skills. @JamesMordenDSBN @dsbn

Late to post, but super proud of our @JamesMordenDSBN robotics teams! They were fierce competitors with lots of perseverance, creativity, & teamwork during the @dsbn @LEGO_Education robotics comp! Our Junior team even placed first in one of the challenges! Congrats Mustangs!❤️🐴

Special launch of our 1st Master Chef🧑‍🍳 group to present their recipe & dish to the class! They developed a Korean bibimbap recipe with spicy gochujang sauce!🍲Their dish was aligned with the Canada Health Food Guide & used fresh lettuce🥬 from our @vireoeducation hydroponics!

Our @JamesMordenDSBN future Spartans enjoyed the @spartannation_ Grade 8 Day! My group explored the com class podcast studio, built frames for their photo booth pics, learned about chemical reactions in a cool science lab, & designed clothing from newspaper in home economics!

I had a lot of fun leading some #EdTech stations for the I/S @brockueducation Science & Tech🧫🧑‍🔬class! Ss explored interactive cell models with @makeymakey & @scratch, @InkSmith3D @missionOTmoon & @microbit_edu Climate Action kits, @tinkercad, & @MSMakeCode Arcade! @XFazio_BrockU

Our October Fresh Falls Market🛒 was a success! Ss have been learning so many life skills organizing & running our market. We were excited to offer recipes matching the produce in the bags! Ss developed Halloween 🎃 & Diwali 🪔 recipes using peppers!🫑@NRPublicHealth @UWNiagara
