If you have not signed the petition, please do. David is pushing to bring changes to the way the CPS leaves victims to further abuse through the systems in place. change.org/p/justice-for-…

Justice for Eleanor. Please watch this video made by David de Freitas. Eleanor's alleged rapist succeeded in having YouTube remove it from their site. dropbox.com/scl/fi/jziabhi…

Thank you. Obviously she was a victim of her own mental health issues and decisions (which is tragic), but not a victim of rape. What is striking is that she could have retracted at any time, avoiding a trial, and we could have all moved on. There was never any 'point of no return'. But she decided to double down, and keep making more allegations to police for many months. Unfortunately, a lot of misinformation continues to be propagated by her family, and their supporters (hence my online presence in this matter).

@Economou_A Sorry, managed to miss reply, now May 2025! Reasons people make false allegations many and various. Sounds as if only true victim here was you and de Freitas her own worst enemy. Police/SS/lawyers/judiciary of course bear heavy responsibility for subscribing to BELIEVE VICTIM.

Yes, good memory. Back in 2013! Thank you all well! Unfortunately David de Freitas and Harriet Wistrich have started a new campaign of misinformation surrounding this case. But the good news is, I am publishing my own book later this year, which will tell the full story, and hopefully help others who find themselves in this situation, and explain how to deal with the law, the press etc - as well as exposing the truth about Wistrich, Lisa Avalos and other activists who lie to the public.

@Economou_A Well hello! I think I "met" you on the old "People's Concerns" forums a few years back. I hope you are well and have moved on from that awful time.

Hello, there. Please note, in the case of Eleanor de Freitas, the evidence presented to the court consisted of 438 pages of evidence, including 21 witness statements and 20 minutes of CCTV footage. The Attorney General, the DPP and High Court have already made findings on this case. The DPP reviewed and approved of this case BEFORE it went to trial, and later said that the evidence against EdF was strong, and that she was declared fit to stand trial by her OWN Doctor. Please see Guardian Article here: theguardian.com/law/2014/dec/0…

This is outrageous. A loophole allows men accused of rape to strip women of their lifelong anonymity through private prosecutions - without police, CPS, or even a crime reference number. Just his word is enough. Eleanor should still be alive. If she’d lived in Scotland, this couldn’t have happened. Why should women in England and Wales be left unprotected? Eleanor’s Law must be passed. It would require Attorney General approval before any private prosecution for false rape claims - protecting women from intimidation. Sign the petition now. We can’t afford to stay silent.

Please sign this petition. I have been speaking to David De Freitas, Eleanor's father for a few years, and his work to change the law around perpetrators using the civil courts to intimidate, and further abuse their victims is immense. chng.it/8hCTzyYqy2

@NabeelaAkh It seems your credibility is diminishing and you have nothing constructive to add to this discussion. Good night.

High Court: "The CPS here had medical evidence, including that which was relied on by those representing the deceased, which did not identify any real or immediate risk to life. No representations were made to the CPS, in the days immediately proceeding her death, to the effect that her condition was worsening and that the prosecution was endangering her life. In those circumstances it is not arguable that there was any such beach of an obligation as is alleged in this ground". @Economou_A I know the story well. Not misinformed. The CPS should be ashamed.

Please note, the Metropolitan Police paid me £10,000 in compensation, for their misconduct during the Eleanor de Freitas investigation. See judgement here. I respectfully request you keep the language polite. I am merely defending myself against wrongful accusations posted by yourself, and your fellow activists who have not actually seen any of the facts about the case. economou.legal/2018/08/metrop…

@Economou_A Trying to intimidate women showing concern for a dead rape victim is objectively not a great look.

@dancinginshado Let him know we did not forget Eleanor. It still breaks my heart knowing what our systems & rapist did to her, how he has been protected & remains it.
