@eduleadership Very much agree. I've been poking at the OpenAI Chat one (I think it's the one you're using too? I'm late to this party) and a teacher friend of mine found a way to make it fall down, but it was kind of cheating: "Write an essay comparing (POEM) to an event in your life." Hah!

@EdBeyondCliches Well said. I don’t think this will be much of a problem for K-12 or the best universities. Big state schools and community colleges? No time for discussion with each student; big problem.

We aren’t prepared for the impact A.I. writing tools will soon have on education. I gave our platform this ludicrous prompt—check out its output. What will this mean for K-12? 🧵 on generative artificial intelligence…

@eduleadership Wolfram Alpha didn't destroy math education, this won't destroy essay writing quite yet. It certainly has the potential to be a powerful tool for demonstrations for teachers not comfortable with showing their own writing on the fly, though - I think *many* will use it for that.

@eduleadership Class sizes are still small enough that your students most likely to cheat this profoundly will not speak/write in other formats at the same caliber of knowledge, and so will "out themselves" that way. Mind you, this can/should/could/will change things... but much like (cont)

8th graders at Hays translating Shakespeare not to modern English, but to modern(ish) English dialects in order to really get a sense of the ideas Shakespeare tries to convey. Pirate? Redneck? Mime? Gamerspeak?! 4s00th! @ProsperHaysMS @GTProsperISD #whyGT

Why join Prosper ISD? Because they understand family - and you're part of it. Because my boss literally said, "If you have a kindergartner this year, I *expect* you to be late to work on the first day of school." Prosper ISD *gets it.* #JoinProsperISD @JoinProsperISD @UTexas35

A4) #prosperisdchat I'd like to learn more about how we can extend the vertical component of PLCs - I think the most important and least used step in any student's education is planning not just through a year, but across many years. #prosperisdchat

@lutecroy I dunno. I'm pretty inarticulate early in the morning.

A3) #prosperisdchat In my GT ELAR PLC, we have a certain joke: The final draft really isn't. No paper is complete until everyone has all the skills we're after. That's true for everything - it's all formative and you keep coming at it another way until mastery is accomplished.

A2) #prosperisdchat Education is too important for ego. It doesn't matter who's right or wrong - what method benefits students best? If you have a practice that's getting better results than mine - guess what? I'll steal your practice! My kids need results - nothing less.

A1) #prosperisdchat Bill Nye, "Everyone you meet knows something you don't." Deliberately solicit the input of all PLC's - even quiet ones - for a new perspective or a new idea, even if it's something you've been doing comfortably forever. You cannot help but learn if you do.

"The less is more rule is a good one for leaders to follow. If we aren’t intentional, we may promote confusion and burnout, instead of inspiring innovation and deep learning." This concept from the #InnovatorsMindset seems more important now than ever! buff.ly/3naUif9

Ok #ProsperISDchat there have been some themes to the GIFs shared in this chat so I wanted to do a little poll. If you could only tweet GIFs from one TV show for the rest of your life… which would you choose?

@NoahsArkTech A4: I'm gonna be cheesy here. Shout out to my wife @flerger; She's got some very real challenges going on this year (rhymes with Nemo) and STILL gets books into hands and makes her library the most welcoming place on her campus. #ProsperISDchat Just need to steal her for Prosper!
