Amb. @urujeniB a échangé avec le Prof. Frédéric Herman, Recteur de @unil, sur les possibilités d’initier une collaboration avec les institutions académiques et de recherche rwandaises. Les discussions ont permis d’identifier des axes de coopération dans les domaines de la santé, de l’administration publique, du sport et de la durabilité.

Amb. @urujeniB held discussions with Prof. Frédéric Herman, Rector of the @unil on potential avenues to initiate collaboration with Rwandan academic and research institutions. Exchanges highlighted potential collaboration in health, public administration, sport, and sustainability.

Today, the Vice President of the Senate Nyirahabimana Soline addressed the 152nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly on the theme of “Nurturing Hope, Securing Peace, and Ensuring Justice for Future Generations.” Thirty-two years ago, #Rwanda endured the darkest chapter in its history, the Genocide against the Tutsi. The country was close to becoming a failed state, the hope for the future generation seemed almost extinguished. However, with the visionary leadership, we embarked on a journey of rebuilding unity, peace and justice. We established strong and accountable public institutions and inclusive governance. We restored the rule of law, and fostered democratic practices that focus on citizen participation.” #IPU152

This morning, Minister of State @UstaNcusta received Ms. Patricia Pilar Llombart Cussac @llombartpatUE, Managing Director for Africa at the European Union External Action Service (EEAS), on courtesy call. They discussed ways to further strengthen Rwanda–EU partnership.

#Rwanda has been recognized by @WorldBankGroup as a top performer on the Human Capital Index+ (HCI+), reflecting strong progress in health, education, and employment outcomes. What does that mean? A child born today in Rwanda can expect better health, quality education, and real employment opportunities.

En visite en Tunisie, le Ministre @onduhungirehe a été reçu en audience par S.E. Kaïs Saïed, Président de la République tunisienne, à qui il a transmis un message spécial de S.E. le Président Paul Kagame. Les échanges ont notamment porté sur la candidature de la Secrétaire générale de l’OIF, Louise Mushikiwabo, à un nouveau mandat, avec une sollicitation du soutien de la Tunisie, ainsi que sur le renforcement des relations bilatérales entre les deux pays.

This evening at Le Palais du Peuple in Brazzaville, President Kagame met with President-Elect @SassouNGuesso_ ahead of his inauguration tomorrow. The two leaders discussed the already existing excellent relations between the two countries, continental issues of importance, and collaboration in key sectors to further enhance the existing ties. The President wished his Congolese counterpart success in his new mandate.

1/2 Today in Innsbruck, Tyrol 🇦🇹, members of the Rwandan Diaspora Community in Austria, local authorities and friends of Rwanda gathered for the solemn 32nd Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, organized for the first time in Tyrol. The ceremony was enriched by remarks from Mr. Ralph Eichhübl of the Municipality of Innsbruck, Ms. Epiphanie Kavutse, President of the Rwandan Diaspora Community in Austria, Ms. Yvette Umuhoza representing survivors in Tyrol, and Ms. Honorine Mujyambere of IBUKA Europe, as well as a message from Mr. Thomas Pupp, Founder and Manager of the Tirol KTM Cycling Team. #Kwibuka32

(Get up, my child, and walk!), @MarieKresbach, who was 9 years old during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, shared a moving testimony highlighting resilience, healing and the transmission of memory to future generations. In her address, Amb. @urujeniB welcomed the City of Innsbruck’s plan to establish a commemorative stele, highlighting it as an important step in preserving the memory of the victims across communities and reflecting a shared commitment to remembrance. The ceremony also featured artistic performances and moments of collective reflection. #Kwibuka32

Today in Innsbruck, Amb. @UrujeniB met @MarioGerber1, Tyrol’s Minister for Economy, Tourism and Digitalization. Discussions focused on practical ways to strengthen Rwanda–Tyrol partnership in tourism, investment and innovation, including adventure tourism, cycling, and skills development through dual vocational training and education exchanges.

2/2 Highlighting the importance of genocide prevention and early vigilance, Amb. @UrujeniB noted: “The 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda was not spontaneous. It was meticulously planned and executed by an identifiable chain of political and military command. The lesson of Rwanda is also that genocide does not begin with mass killing. It begins early and with consistent dehumanization, organized hate, tolerated incitement, and the dangerous normalization of violence. Remembrance must sharpen our ability to recognize warning signs early, before hatred hardens into policy and violence.”
