“Enough to be competitive and make the tournament” were your words
Operating budget is the cost of doing business in the ACC. Has nothing to do with making the tournament!
Until roster building budget is top 50, nothing else matters

Bill, I’m pointing out the amount we spend on the program (YES! The operating budget) and pointing out that it’s silly to be spending that much on the program and then not supporting NIL the way we should. I’m fine if you and @EdWilliams_SOS think that I don’t get it, but trust me, I do. Running the basketball program this way is just stupid and needs to be called out.

Once again. Operating budget, like rev share, is not NIL and has no bearing on roster spend
Please stop spreading misinformation about this. It doesn’t help anything or anyone.
We are bottom 3-5 of our own league, much less the whole country.

Tread, while true you can donate to the program, the school CANNOT manage NIL.
In the example you’ve provided, my money would go to filling the 20.5 mil rev share bucket
That isn’t NIL! There is not a way to direct funds to MBB NIL. Or any sport!

Seeing alot of the “goodluck fundraising” commentary as if there is a way to donate to MBB NIL anway.
Even if fans wanted to, there’s no clear way to contribute to MBB NIL

Declining the NIT invite just completely wiped out any shred of goodwill the fans still had for this team. Good luck fundraising for this program for the next year

@HokieChris1 @SonsofSatVT And then 1 of the important returners also gets hurt? I’d agree with we had a bunch of freshman that need mins, but we have 1 freshman playing, 1 hurt, and 2 redshirting. Everyone else doesn’t need mins

Disappointing, but when you step back understandable
There is a core group of players on this team that we desperately need to retain, and start next season healthy. With injury questions about 1 of those guys already, play it safe.

Injuries, heartbreaking finishes, unfortunate scheduling luck, and just boneheaded late game execution at times.
