McLaren showing that they have the best driver lineup on the grid
One dude hasn’t started a race until now
The other hasn’t had a clean practice
And they’re still on the limit, fighting against faster cars
@AndyKB_@SkySportsF1 DOTD is a farce at this point anyway.
Building a fast car and making the most of it is why you challenge for WDC, but Kimi is not ready for that fight. He deserves the chance with Merc 100%, but he is incredibly mistake prone and that car won’t boost him, it will carry him
@Eddmillo@SkySportsF1 The pressure of your first win at such a young age when so many have said he doesn’t deserve the drive is huge.
Maybe doesn’t deserve DOTD, but the drivers you have listed have won the accolade for that exact reason.
I think Kimi could genuinely challenge for the WDC this year
This Kimi glazing by @SkySportsF1 is ridiculous. He has dealt with minimal pressure all day and has been carried by his car.
He has talent, but does not deserve all this praise today!
#F1
@AndyKB_@SkySportsF1 What pressure? Sitting out in front does not mean you’re under pressure, and it you shouldn’t get driver of the day. Would Max/Lando/Charles deserve DOTD, simply for winning with one overtake? And taking into account his mistakes?
Kimi isn’t ready for a championship fight
@Eddmillo@SkySportsF1 Highly disagree with this one mate.
It’s common for the top two teams to win a race, so I agree that that Kimi does have the best car.
Winning your first race at 19 in only your 26th race from pole is pressure.
We have seen so many miss out on their first win due to pressure.
