Something that we should get the ball rolling on is this concept "digital ownership" or the right to use alternate firmware Just think about it, you paid $500-700 for that console years ago, its not getting much use.. Why can't I install a desktop OS to get more use out of it?

@Rusty_Foxxo That's what will happen if we "take the subsidies away" it will have grave negative effects, that advocates won't tell you

@Rusty_Foxxo Many of those subsidies for hospital funding goes to rural communities, who would be most affected by cuts And insurance companies are not going to be out of the goodness of their hearts, pay to help keep those rural hospitals around, as would be "costly"

And yet people oppose universal healthcare and cause needless tragedies like these to occur

@unk331 @Milo_H4 It really isn't the real issue, the issue is being able to negotiate prices and insurance companies making the process more expensive

@unk331 @Milo_H4 We can change the laws on medical patents to have special cases where we can avoid paying high royalties to companies and whatnot... But again, the patent fees only pertain to newer medicines, but common medications like Adderall, insulin, and aspirin are patent free...

@k1tty_bug If we moved to a single payer system, we will overall have more money in our pockets, as we won't be stuffing insurance CEOs' and investors' bank accounts But the issue of welfare fraud has always been greatly exaggerated, mainly to scare people into killing the programs

@EddyTheTechWolf I get lowering price of meds that cost $2 to make but let’s like also reduce the amount of taxes that get taken out of my pay check… id rather pay for that man’s meds than for trashy ass Keri-sue with 2 kids who refuses to work and her husband spends their food stamps on beer

@unk331 @SulfideCheetah You know that WE are their bosses, not the other way around. Just because it would be hard to achieve does not mean it is not a worthwhile endeavor If we elected people who are serious, we can have change If we just throw up our arms at every issue, nothing will get done

@EddyTheTechWolf @SulfideCheetah You really think the us government will create a new healthcare system. They won't, the government and the insurance company made the current system. About 27% of the US budgets already spent on subsidies and healthcare.

"Friends, this week, my sweet uncle was placed in hospice care. Yesterday, he was moved to the Mid Pinellas Care Center for a few days. His decline these past two weeks has been so fast. Please, I ask for your thoughts and prayers—for peace and comfort.

Please pray for an 8 year old girl and her family from my parish. She was diagnosed with cancer and has been placed in a medically induced coma. She was moved to a better hospital out of our city with her mother and her father must stay behind to work, 1.5 hours away from them.

Not to be a downer. If anyone could say some prayers for my mother. She is now on oxygen and hasnt really been responsive for 2 days now. We are making her comfortable and have Hospice care at her home with us. Thought I was ready, turns out I am not.

@Rusty_Foxxo Mass layoffs shouldn't happen though, could enforcing antitrust cause jobs to be lost? It is possible, but this won't be companies collapsing like Enron or Lehman Brothers. They would just be broken up into small companies and be prevented from coming back together

@EddyTheTechWolf Yeah, I agree. But sadly, I dont think it's fixable atp. I think medical stuff counts towards like 15 or 20% of the entire economy. To reform or fix it would mean mass layoffs, and nobody wants to be the one to rip the bandaid off.

@Rusty_Foxxo We have to keep organizations, whether public or private, charities or corporations, regardless what they are, we must keep them in line We also shouldn't be letting big companies buy out our politicians, that's another somewhat unrelated issue that we all should be in agreement
