Honored to attend this afternoon’s Autism Awareness Celebration sponsored by the outstanding educators at the Joseph Lee K-8 School (BPS) in Dorchester. As a city, let’s work together to provide students with autism and their families with the support they need and deserve!

It was wonderful to visit residents of Patriots Homes in South Boston this evening. We discussed quality of life issues and services for veterans and military families. @SouthBostonNDC transformed a vacant city building into affordable apartments for veterans and their families.

This morning, I visited P&G Gillette for their STEM Day partnership with Josiah Quincy Upper School. Empowering young girls in STEM is essential to building a future where they lead, innovate, and drive meaningful change in the world!

Boston is 70% dependent on property taxes (NYC 30%) & more vulnerable to remote work/commercial property values. 2024 report: City to lose 1.7-$2.1B annually. We’re $100M in debt after two 10+% tax increases. The last thing we should do is ask people not to come back Downtown!

At today’s @BOSCityCouncil budget hearing, we discussed public works and the transportation department. I advocated for a residential parking program throughout SB, fix sidewalks in SB, Chinatown,South End and the city’s e-bike program (must use helmets and respect traffic laws).

Boston’s next Commissioner of Parks and Recreation will be Diana Fernandez Bibeau, a 35-year-old West Roxbury resident who currently works in the Boston Planning Department. dotnews.com/2026/05/04/fer…

A congestion tax is not the solution to Boston’s struggling economy! We must first demonstrate fiscal discipline, accountability and transparency.

This afternoon,Kristen and I were honored to join South End residents,the Hayes Family and Rep.John Moran for “May Day in Hayes Park.”It was great to see so many families out enjoying this exceptional park! Our beautiful city parks are one of the many treasures of life in Boston.

This afternoon on Clarendon Street in the South End, Kristen and I visited Madeleine’s Candy Shop to support this woman-owned small business and to thank Madeleine and her staff for being such wonderful neighbors!

It was wonderful to attend tonight’s Wonder Ball Gala to support the exceptional work of the @BosChildMuseum. The museum engages children in joyful discovery experiences that instill an appreciation of our world, develop foundational skills and spark a lifelong love of learning.

Thank you to Marty Walsh for joining us in Lowell for a memorable evening of conversation, reflection, and community. As former Mayor of Boston and U.S. Secretary of Labor, he shared his perspective on leadership, public service, and personal resilience.

For FY27, @CityOfBoston is seeking to cut the veterans department by 14%.It’s never acceptable to balance a budget on the backs of veterans and military families. On Wednesday,I will ask city council colleagues to stand with veterans & oppose this unconscionable cut @BostonVets.

Boston asked big tech 3rd party food delivery companies to use mopeds in 2022. We never had drivers cutting between cars @ red lights, so many deliveries running stop signs & the wrong way on one-way streets & sidewalks. Moped food delivery facilitates speed over safety. #bospoli

An informative meeting this afternoon w/ @AACABoston & Chinatown neighbors. We discussed strategies to improve cleanliness throughout the neighborhood. Our efforts must include a public awareness campaign in Cantonese & Mandarin. Boston works best when we work together! #bospoli

This morning @BOSCityCouncil Budget working session, I testified against the proposed cut to @BostonVets. The recommended budget indicates a 14.6% reduction. Investment in our veterans not only honors their contributions but ensures that no one is left behind. #bospoli
